Sigma Kappa, Phi Mu, and Gamma Phi Beta were at Tech in the past. GPhiB closed in 2001 so I don't know if that plays a part... I saw somewhere that they didn't submit a packet but I'm not sure if there's any truth in that.

I saw the same comment on that *other* website, so the credibility may be suspect. But I suppose it's possible that some Panhellenic officer or student worker had access to that information, especially if any students were involved in the review process.

I remember that info from a source on here? Hopefully next time y'all will be able to present though!
I would also love to know if anyone else is presenting at North Georgia

The thing is there's so much expansion going on that just about everyone is pushed to the limit. The only ones who AREN'T expanding like crazy are the ones who are already bigger than the rest of us
Presuming Gamma Phi didn't even submit, that would be the most likely reason in my mind (for what THAT'S worth, which isn't much). There's just so much expansion you can do at once or you risk not giving a new colony the attention it needs and deserves.

There is A LOT of expansion happening, schools that are opening and colonies that are on-going and I think we're going to see quite a few more schools open shortly. Not to mention the schools that have opened multiple times in short timespans.

I had posted that we didn't submit - information I received first hand from a very highly placed Gamma Phi Beta source.
Texas Tech will require a major housing expenditure without live-in members to support it. That is a consideration for any group, especially one with several large building projects underway.

So, I know Texas Tech has "lodges" but from the pictures on their panhellenic website, they are pretty sizeable houses. I'm really surprised that they're not used to live in.

My cousin is a DZ at North GA. Last night she told me ZTA, DPhiE, and AST were presenting. DPhiE's Kennesaw chapter also had a member mention it on Twitter. Presentations have started.

I think the pictures on the website misrepresent their actual size. If you go to google maps and take a "virtual tour" you'll see that they aren't as big as they seem. Our lodge had one bedroom and I think some others did too.

But the lodges are not inexpensive. Pi Phi and Alpha Phi just completed remodels/expansions of their lodges (see article in student paper this summer) to the tune of approximately $1 million.

So wait what. Does the new sorority have to build their own lodge? (That sounds very rustic) It said the fraternities don't all have one, if it's just for meetings why couldn't they just meet in the student center or something until the chapter has a few years of dues under its belt?
(I'm doing a juice fast today so I may be a little slow but I'm totally confused by this whole concept.)

I would assume that like most campuses with housing, a structure will be needed at some point in the near future, in order to remain competitive
