You should've seen my part of Connecticut in the week or so after Sandy, and for the first couple of days after Nemo. Every gas station had either (a) a line around the block, or (b) no line at all, which translated into (b1) they'd run completely out of gas, (b2) they only had premium, which cannot be used to fuel gas-powered generators, or (b3) they had no power and therefore the gas pumps were non-functional. Yes, gas stations can and do run out of gas.

I once went to a Burger King where they had run out of beef. This wasn't during the mad cow scare or anything. They'd just ... run out of beef. It gives the old Wendy's slogan a whole added layer of meaning - "WHERE'S THE BEEF???"

The Nemo storm that hit me a month ago cleaned out many gas stations, people actually stocked up and the stations themselves weren't prepared.

I think gas shortages are expected in the aftermath of a severe storm. There are a couple gas stations around here who run out of gas on occasion, usually when they are the cheapest in town.

There was a KFC by my mom's house that ran out of chicken regularly. I was astounded.

Ugh, I've had four reschedules this morning, already. I guess I can go over some of the charts of some of the patients I do have coming in.

Funny though, because one of my clients (who's scheduled today) told me that her 10-year-old son will always ask for me on the Saturdays I'm off. She said he tells all of his friends about how "pretty" his vet is. She said now he won't come in with her anymore because he's embarrassed that she told me. I thought it was the most hilarious thing ever. Cute...

I remember I had a crush on my science teacher when I was a little girl.

I've gone to the drive-thru at KFC before and they told me they were out of chicken. But were in the process of making some more and asked me to pull to the side for a few minutes to wait. I've seen this kind of thing happen at McDonalds, and Burger King too, with fries. They just ask me to pull to the side and wait for a fresh batch.

Had a Taco Bell run out of the wraps used for chalupas and gorditas as well as the taco shells.

I went to happy hour with a group a couple weeks ago. The bar ran out of vodka and had to borrow some from the establishment next door. That was the first time I'd heard of that happening.

I've had that happen too, but at this one, they didn't have any more to make even!

Hugs to you, sister. Gabrielle had a long life and was well-loved...what a blessing that is.
