Recruitment for a Non Academic Sorority
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to recruit PNM's for a non academic sorority (Phi Beta Psi) in a huge city?
We've posted on Craigs List, Myspace, facebook, etc, but we need more creative ideas....anyone?

Instead of saying you're Non-Academic, perhaps you should just say that you're not affiliated with a college/university.
Saying you're a "non-academic" sorority just makes me think y'all are just a bunch of dumb girls who don't care about school.
I'm just sayin'.

Hey hun how've you been? Haven't talked in a while. Try putting up flyers in different colleges aren't the city, especially ones that don't have a Greek Life or a strong campus presence.

If you're in NYC I would specifically try to contact women at 2 year schools or schools without sororities like John Jay and City College.

I was looking at your website, and it said that your sorority is open to women who are over 18 and high school grads and that have high moral standards. So maybe, you could get the other members of your org to post and pass out flyers at local high schools (because there may be women who would be interested in the sorority experience but college isn't for them or they're going to be working locally while they save up for college) or at churches or at volunteer organizations or at organizations specifically for women (organizations for mothers, organizations for professional women) or at gyms for women.

At first I thought that she meant non-academic meaning it wasn't an academic honor fraternity.
I would talk to people in person. And hold events so people can see what your sorority is about and meet current members.

Thank you all for your suggestions! We had a very successful rush (at least by our standards, lol)....we had 14 girls attend our events, and we gave 7 bids, nearly doubling our chapter!
I will post pics as soon as we get them!
PS: I'm still trying to figure out how to get color and greek letters in my signature...I'm MB illiterate :-( any help would be appreciated!

Here's how I did mine.
Just change the color and letters and font size to what you want.
