Post West Coast Voters

Just curious about those of you in California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska about elections.

I've been reading a bit about the brewing recriminations that may start over the whole Florida fiasco and the media in last nights election results reporting.

My question is this...on voting for the president (or any other national matters that may arise) - when the results start coming in from the East and Central time zones...does it affect turnout for you personally or for those you know? I think the media does a great disservice to the entire country, and especially the western US with this practice.

Thoughts?

For me, no, I never it affect me. Anyway, i'm usually out away from the tv or radio on election day. I'm an absentee voter, so I vote at home or where ever I am and then drop it off at city hall election day.

I have voted in Nevada and Arizona and yes it is irritating to have predictions on the tv. I remember my parents going off to the polls and the tv saying that one of the candidates was being projected as the winner. It used to irritate them too. It is also annoying at times that our states are glossed over and all attention is on Cali. I understand why but it still bugs at times...
