Chapters with the same name as the frat/sorority

For example, is there an Alpha Phi chapter of Alpha Phi?

I don't think ADPi has started using 3 greek letters for chapter designations... so I guess we don't have an Alpha Delta Pi chapter of ADPi

We haven't arrived at that one yet. You'd have to have quite a few chapters before you get a "Sigma Nu" chapter. However, I'm not aware of any rule that would prevent it.

The only rules we have regarding the naming of chapters state that we will have no chapter starting with alpha and we will not use omega in any chapter designations.

Pi Beta Phi uses the province/state name and the greek letter to name a chapter. For example, my chapter is Ontario Gamma, which means we are the third chapter to be installed in the province of Ontario.
There would have to be a hell of a lot of chapters in one province or state to have the chapter Pi Beta Phi.

LX Z of LXA!

Since many times we go by Lamda Chi it is funny to have Brothers ask our Chapter designation and we tell them, no no what Chapter, we know you are a LX!

Happened to me in Melbourn, Fl. Had to take out my card and show them! Freaked them out especially since I only had a single # on it--- # 1.

Yeah apparently there's a Theta Tau chapter of some professional org on my campus, and of course there's Theta Tau the engineering fraternity on our campus also.

The really cool thing about my ADPi chapter designation is that my sister's AChiO chapter at Miami U is the same...we are both the Beta Tau chapters!!! SO we are still linked somehow!

Ironically, my chapter of initiation is actually Delta Gamma, so it's kind of weird talking to someone about the chapter because I'll say 'Delta Gamma' but I have to specify that I'm an ADPi.

Some of the other chapters we have with the same names of Frats/Sororities are the following:

Alpha Phi (closed chapter)
Delta Zeta (closed chapter)
Delta Chi (University of Northern Colorado) (Frat)
Delta Upsilon (University of Tennessee-Martin) (Frat)
Zeta Psi (University of North Carolina-Greensboro) (Frat)

I believe that is it.

Well, we've got an Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, and Delta Zeta chapters...and in another 20ish years maybe we'll get up to KD.

We skipped over a Delta Zeta chapter and right went from Delta Epsilon to Delta Eta.

One chapter name that I wish HAD been skipped is the Epsilon Zeta chapter. But it was installed in the 1920's and the ladies almost certainly had no inkling of possible connotations.
