Backpacking with Your Dog by Charlene Labelle
I can almost feel the summer breeze and I am planning to do some hiking during the weekends. It will be the very first time that I am bringing my Labrador Retriever along, the reason why I am taking some time to reading this book for some tips. I already bought him a set of dog boots, but it seems like he is unhappy with wearing it.

Been reading Wieland or the Transformation by Charles Brockden Brown.
Hard to get through. Do not recommend.

No, just couldn't get into it. I still have it on my rotation, though, for when I may be in the mood.
BTW, The Fix was really good. It's part of the Amos Decker series, and I find his character fascinating!

John Grisham's Ford County Stories. Much more interesting than I had expected!

“Rising” by Elizabeth Rush
It’s a FASCINATING current account of our rapidly-changing coastlines from every US coast, including photos. The young writer presents a terrifying future for those of us who live and play on America’s coastlines. I like that she interviews natives whose lives are changing as we speak.

"Salt Fat Acid Heat: Mastering the Art of Good Cooking" by Samin Nosrat
Up until this year, I never really cooked. At all. My bf was certainly the chef (a word I use loosely) between the two of us. So my New Years resolution this year was to cook a new meal every week. I'm actually keeping up with It! But for the most part, I'm sticking strictly to the recipes I find online.
This book, though, is teaching me how to "feel" and understand my food as I cook it rather than simply throwing a recipe together and hoping it turns out OK in the end. I was completely hooked after reading the first chapter... about salt (yes, I'm excited because I'm learning about salt). I never knew how vital it is to cooking and how different types of salt can drastically alter taste.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is learning to cook and/or to anyone who doesn't know or understand how these four elements - Salt, fat, acid, and heat - can affect food.
