Cool Sisterhood Poem

I am looking for a poem to read during our national convention. If you know of a good poem that represents sisterhood in general, or where to find such a poem, please share. I am NOT asking for priveledged infomation, only something that is very general and can be applied to any sorority.

You might try bluemountain. They have a section in their online cards that feature cards to sisters. Many of them include very beautiful poems. Sometimes though the most heart felt one is one you've taken some time to write about your own sisterhood. One of my most cherished poems is one i wrote to my sisters during a time when i was struggling with to put it mildly - a sever case of homesickness...

This poem is really popular in my chapter. It's by Christina Rossetti and is from Goblin Market (1862)

For there is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands.

Hope this helps

sctroy, the poem below was posted by SoCalGirl on another thread. It's thought-provoking, to say the least. Hope you have a productive and enjoyable convention!

The Greek That's Written There

It makes little difference
The size of your pin
Whether it's large or small,
And if its plain
Or brilliant with jewels
Is of no concern at all,
But the vows that you took
Along with your pin,
Have you worn them constantly,
Quietly, deep in the heart
Where no one looks to see?
Have you touched the stars
You reached for once
In you own small piece of sky?
Have you striven for the honorable,
The beautiful, and the high?
What difference then
The shape of the badge,
Be it
Diamond or quill or square
The important thing is
How much do you love
The pin you chose to wear?

I had a look here: http://www.oneonta.edu/~greeks/rushprg.html
but the poem is merely attributed to "Anonymous". A shame really, since it is truly a lovely and meaningful poem.
