That sounds really cool! I am definitely going to at least TRY to go!

I cannot, however, go to the picnic, even though I thought I could when I responded. My silly professor decided to schedule a "mandatory" walking tour of Lower Manhattan for 1 PM Sunday.

Oh, the Met sounded fun. I didn't see this until Friday at 8pm and I am home in Westchester now. But I am sure you are having a GREAT time as the weather is beautiful!

I am planning on the picnic Sunday so I hope to meet you girls then. Maybe I'll swing by the Duane Reade for an instant camera...

It was 80 degrees and sunny so it would have been a great night if the Met hadn't closed the rooftop in anticipation of hurricane Isabel. I walked to Mustang. I didn't know anyone, so I left. I was home by 7:30.

Hopefully, the picnic tomorrow will be better. *fingers crossed*

Yes, the picnic was great! Perfect weather - although I wish I had worn shorts or a skirt! It was fun to meet Cream ans ZTAMich! And the other ladies were really nice, too. Cream and I did an excellent job of eating brownies!!!

I went to yahoogroups to check out what has been going on with NYCPanhelAlum. I was taken to a page that reads,"There is no group called NYCPanhelAlum." Does anyone know anything about this?

There was some drama apparently and the list moderator said she was ending the list. Apparently people were arguing off the list and debating the purpose of the list and the approrpiateness of various emails. I didn't save the e-mails though so I don't remember but I don't see how this won't really hurt the group considering how much they were off the radar when they had the list serve. Personally I don't remember the emails being too excessive but there are always people that complain if they get one email every month that they aren't interested in.

I get the daily digest version. I guess the last one was a couple of days ago. I just don't see the point of discontinuing the list because a few people actually used the list. It is kind of weird that one person would do that without informing everyone. Or did she and I didn't get the email?

The list moderator should have changed the group's settings to "moderated," to keep out the drama and/or turned it over to someone else. There is value in a list that is built up over time, and now it is gone.

Anyway, maybe Peaches-n-Cream can start a new one.
