The Sigma Chi Rho Colony of Sigma Chi at Bryant University (Providence, RI) was granted its charter this past Saturday, May 1 2010 thereby becoming the new Lambda Eta Chapter with 37 Founding Brothers receiving their pins along with the charter.

Congratulations to all!

Your Greek system is really growing by leaps and bounds - you'll be the "sorority that's been there forEVER" before long.

Do you know if this was decided before the expansion vote? Because if not...that's pretty much like telling the chapter to get lost.

The article indicated that the Phi Sigma rep did not vote because their chapter was not going to be there anyway, so it sounds like they made their decision first. It also sounds like this was the chapter's decision after receiving a directive from their Headquarters.

Oh lord, not again. PSS survived a reorganization/recolonization not long ago. It really makes me sad that at an Ivy League school, a chapter without the "cool" factor can't survive.

It does seem that Penn has a (recentish) history of chapters that have a lot of good qualities but have some difficult rush results, and thus their days are numbered. This also isn't the first time they've decided to expand while a chapter was troubled.

Ivy League kids are still kids. They're not emotionless brains on legs.

ZETA TAU ALPHA!!!

SIGMA KAPPA!!!

I can speak for my chapter in saying that we are excited to bring both of these outstanding organizations onto campus! There is a little concern about hand signs and symbols, since ASA does crowns at IUPUI and so does Zeta... I'm sure it will all work out!

We are holding recruitment September 16-18, with Zeta doing an info night with us on the 16th and beginning their own COB process shortly after the end of formal recruitment.

There is an interest group specifically for the new organization that formed earlier this year, so that will probably factor into Zeta's COB process (if not Sigma Kappa's as well).

I will be graduated and gone by the time SK gets here, which is a shame because I loved their presentation.

I got to see Pi Beta Phi's presentation at JHU last night and I was so impressed! They did a fantastic job. Every Pi Phi there was so classy and well-spoken, and they did a great job answering the MANY questions girls threw at them. A lot of panhellenic women came out to the presentation, and it was great to see so much support.

We're all very excited for the Alpha Chi Omega presentation tomorrow

The Sigma Chapter of Sigma Chi will return after approximately 128 years of inactivity! 36 new Brothers will be initiated after having worked diligently for almost two years to bring this day to fruition.

Congratulations to all of them!
