Why I chose Alpha Phi: I actually started school 2 years ago, and went through rush. I got sick pref night, didn't bid, and had to leave school. When I got back to school this year I decided to go through rush again and ended up loving Alpha Phi for the second time. I was amazed at how many of the girls remembered me, and where genuinely concerned for me and interested in what I'd been doing. The connection that I had felt with them 2 years ago was still there and it was easy to make connections with the newer girls. Alpha Phi is somewhere that I know I'm loved for who I am even if I'm still learning who that is!

Chapter: Phi
School: University of Oklahoma
Year joined: Fall 2006
Status: Active
Current offices: I don't hold an office in Alpha Phi but I am on the Panhellenic Judicial Board.
Why I chose Alpha Phi: This year Phi is recolonizing at OU as many of you know. I went through formal recruitment as a sophomore..which is difficult here becasue rush is so competitive. I dropped out of rush before Pref night because I was more excited about the girls I met on the open house day of Rush (the only day Alpha Phi participated) than I was with the houses I was invited to. When I left rush I said that I was leaving with an interest in Alpha Phi and only a few days later one of the ELCs called me to set up an interview for the colony and to explain the blitz. I knew then that I would only want to be an Alpha Phi if I joined a sorority. And I had an amazing time during the Alpha Phi blitz! I knew Alpha Phi would be my home.

Chapter: Delta Theta
School: Western Michigan University... GO BRONCOS!
Year joined: Fall 2006
Status: Sophmore
Current offices: Director of campus activities & sports
Alum clubs in past or present: No clubs currently
Why I chose Alpha Phi: When I first came to college I never considered joining a sorority... my encounters with "sorority girls" gave me a terrible impression. My two best friends though had their hearts set on finding a house to join. I decided I would give it a chance... when I came to Alpha Phi I literally fell in love. I have met the most amazing girls and I am proud to call them all my sisters. I have found my second half, my best friend in this house. She and I have been inseperable since signed my bid during a COB night in the fall. Alpha Phi has changed my life and has impacted me and I have only been a member for 9 months. I cannot wait to see where else this group of young women and the house takes me!

Theresa

Current offices: Corresponding Secretary
Alum clubs in past or present: none?
Why I chose Alpha Phi: I definitely don't think i'm alone when i say i came to college, never thinking i would join a sorority, being that i was horribly shy and all that in high school. but they say you can be whoever you want when you go away to college so i thought i'd give it a go, go out on a limb, and rush. and from the second i walked into the alpha phi house at UCI, i fell in love. it was so beautiful and the girls were so welcoming and instantly, i didn't feel like i was in a recruitment party, but rather that i was just talking with old friends. without alpha phi, i would've left college long ago...the first weeks were hard, but having sisters there to help me adjust was so amazing. none of my friends back home could believe it...i think they still have a hard time seeing ME as a sorority girl, but it's who i am now. alpha phi is my life =)
