Hunting season is upon us. Anyone answering the call of wild and going out after game this year?
Goose and Dove seasons are now open in Virginia. I am planning on going after geese tomorrow at oh-dark-thirty if the weather holds. GF is going after Doves at her uncle's property so she can make up her favorite dove breast pie. Dad and I will be after geese on his property and we are hoping for roast goose for Sunday dinner.
Who else on GC is a waterfoweler?

I was at a suburban park today and there was a big flock of wild turkeys, toms and hens. Probably 20 of them, walking in and out of the woods and totally ignoring the people. I was definitely wondering when season starts around here and whether they know the difference between park land and spaces where they are going to end up as someone's main course.
Full info should be available on your state's Game and Fisheries home pages. They will provide dates for open seasons, licensing requirements, and any other requirements that might vary from state to state.
Most states provide maps and info on productive hunting areas by species and a wealth of useful tips and suggestions.
Hope you have good luck and "une belle chasse"
