At one school we visited in The College Search, all the women's fraternity houses were built and decorated by the university at the same time. The layout of each house is the same. Each of the formal living rooms was beautifully decorated in the GLO's colors. Some generous benefactor had Chinese wool rugs that tastefully incorporated the sororities' symbols custom-designed for these formal living rooms. The Kappa rug had fleur-de-lis, the Theta house had black kite-shaped figures etc.

Those blue owl pails from Target ARE cute!
I only have two owl pillows that were gifts during my pledge period. Since we have three symbols, I let the owl go! I have so many things with keys and fleur de lis (my double front doors have a fleur de lis design that they did for me) in my house. There is so much fleur de lis stuff out there, it's almost hard not to go overboard.

My friend's daughter just went DG a few months ago, so I've been giving her lots of info on the anchor clothes! And one of my daughter's friends just gave her a pair jcrew shorts that have ladybugs all over them. Ladybugs are pretty easy to find, too...I never really noticed until recently.

Angel figurines aren't hard to find, but on clothes....angels and arrows might be tough.

Since I'm always on the lookout for carnation stuff (owls have become increasingly easy to find), I ran across this website the other day, and it seems to be pretty cool:

I also have a lot of luck with this site for cool gifts in general:

Would this be a possibility for a kite necklace? Kay.com also had a fleur-de-lis necklace and a 5-pointed crown necklace under "diamond necklaces and pendants."

Since I can't help with carnations, but I can help with owls (the title of the thread)....here's to all the Chi Omegas, Kappas, etc out there....

A cute wall owl string dispenser and scissor holder good for houses:
http://www.fatfinch.com/pages/mob01.html

Also good for the house is an owl letter holder:
http://www.curiosityshoppeonline.com/owlleho.html

A very college appropriate night owl mug in blue & brown:
http://www.southmoonunder.com/bvc/ja...ug-125336.html

Very retro owl toddler tableware set for a baby shower:
http://www.oliverbonas.com/OliverBon...ookie%5Ftest=1
click on the owl one to see

And I know someone already mentioned Urban Outfitters, but this watch necklace is pretty "generationally-friendly"
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=29956&itemType=PRODUCT&iProd uctID=29956&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Women's%2C-_-Accessories%2C-_-Owl+Watch+Necklace

Lastly, any owl-related print by Picasso - simple and sublime

Hope this helps!

One of my BFF's is a Chi O and I found her a great B-Day card at Target with an owl on the front-- it's a cut out with fabric-- really cute. They also had one with a kite, and a few other sorority mascots. (No lions or diamonds, though-- drat!)

Her b-day is today, by the way!
