ABAC had opened previously. I wonder if there will be anyone presenting this time.

Also, I just realized that Columbia College in SC is a women's college.

Talking

I think we had a colony at Penn Tech and it didn't really get off the ground. The environment might not really be conducive to NPC groups.

Wasn't one NPC group already named to colonize here?

Not that I know of-I googled "Columbia College Greek life" and nothing came up. It's a very small women's college that's overshadowed by the University of South Carolina in the same city, and I'm sort of surprised they're interested in NPC groups. Don't know anything about the campus culture to see if this would be viable, though.

Columbia College has roughly 600 students. They have had increases in enrollment in that last few years and plan on adding more programs to make the school more attractive to potential enrollees.

Perhaps there has been some student interest in adding sororities, or the administration thinks that sororities/women's fraternities will help increase interest.

If going off of the NPC chapter listing we have on here, it looks as though they may have had sororities in the past, if only for very briefly.

College for Women
(Columbia College)
Columbia, SC
************
Alpha Sigma Alpha Gamma 1904-1910
Kappa Delta Delta 1905-1910

Yet upon doing a little of my own research (this school is very hard to quickly find things about in detail given the generic name and lots of schools in the town), it lists College for Women and Columbia College separately.

It looks like College for Women and Columbia College are not the same, because Columbia College used to be called Columbia Female College until 1904 and there's no reference to any merger with College for Women in their history. Could be totally wrong, though.

650 undergraduates is also very low, even for a small liberal arts college...I wonder if they think introducing Greek life will help with enrollment and retention.

The Delta Tau Delta chapter at California Polytechnical University - San Luis Obispo has voluntarily surrendered their charter. The chapter had recently gone through a membership review led by their national offices. The remaining members voted to close the chapter.

DG had 185 new members at our Cal Poly SLO Bid Day on the 4th!

It was also our bid day at UNCW, but I don't have numbers from there, just a pic on our facebook page.

Such good news for DG and Cal Poly SLO! Is another NPC group slated to (re)colonize in the next five years? The campus seems to have plenty of pnms, and each recent colony has acquired large NM numbers.
