University of Maryland Rush

What is University of Maryland's rush like? Is it very competitive and throat? What houses make quota/total and what houses don't?

I think if you do a search for threads on fall rush last year you can find the story of one of the rushees who was rushing at Maryland. She pretty much gave us the breakdown of what houses she liked the best and how they were in her mind. I'm sorry but I don't remember her name. Probably not very helpfull here.

I dont go to University of Maryland, but my (biological) sister does, so I know a bit about the rush process. The houses that usually make quota are Kappa Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta (Yeay!), Tridelta, AOPi, and AChiO. My sister is in Alpha Delta Pi, and this past sping recruitment period did they not only make quota, but they had such a large spring class that they had to break it into two pledge classes (I think they got 35, 40 new memeber in all). Where are all the Marylanders on this one? It is compeitive but I don't believe it's Cut throat compeitive(someone correct me if you think I am wrong) but as for your other question it really all depends on the year and what they expect and what their headquarters expect. Are u going to UMD? Well good luck and have a great school year.

Alpha Phi at Univ. Maryland did, in fact, make quota last year, in 1999, and 1998 (sorry, that is as far back as my records go).

Alpha Phi was ranked in the top four houses (size-wise) as of 1998 (again, I don't have the absolute latest totals).

Suffice it to say, Alpha Phi is strong at UMD. Last year's quota at UMD was 19 + 1. Campus total was 95.

Ahh!! Sorry, I guess I should check all my facts before I speak, but there are a lotta houses at Maryland, i dont go there, so get confused quite a bit! My apologies... FYI- This is informal rush this fall...
