A lot of times the retention rate is based on whether the girls feel like they belong. And that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the sisters themselves but more about coming around. I personally almost dropped when I was a new member because I felt like I didn't belong. It didn't have anything to do with specific girls, but was just a matter of it being overwhelming to come in and be in such a new situation.
This year I am the sisterhood activities chair and am really trying to focus on our incoming new members. I plan to do sisterhood events specifically for them as well as things for everyone at the house to get them to come around.
So just try to have activities to help them get to know eachother and have sisterhood events so everyone can get to know eachother. Also, I believe that ADPi does diamond sisters (or something like that) to serve as buddies during the NM period. These are good. Each buddy can introduce the NM to her big/lil, friends, etc. This helps the NM's meet more people and be more likely to stay.
As a chapter we've really been focusing on retention for the past couple years. These are just a couple ideas. If you want more feel free to PM me.
