Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like a Greek system managed by someone who doesn't understand the importance of history in these (ALL of our) esteemed institutions. I don't begrudge the other chapters, but that is super not cool. Alas, we can spend our time and resources on campuses who want us. I guess "He's really not that into you" applies to men, rush, AND NPC sorority expansion! So we move on and focus on the good. Yeah Michigan State!

Is it possible that the Greek life director or the ladies on Panhel voting just didn't "get" the chapter transferring thing? It is unusual.
That being said, all groups who presented should be informed ASAP when another group is selected, whether it's a possible Alpha recolonization or someone who came out of the clear blue sky.

Not at that school. DZ did it too; it just wasn't their Alpha. And our Alpha didn't close until the 70's, so it's not like it's ancient or forgotten history.

Hoping for Michigan, maybe Oklahoma State, and a big SEC. But, we'll see what happens!

Obviously it was mis-handled if they didn't get notified, but I'm not sure that an Alpha designation should have that much weight in an expansion decision. I suppose if I was voting, and was torn between two chapters, maybe that could be the deciding factor, but I don't think it would sway me on its own.

Do we still own our house there?

As someone else said, it's leased to D Phi E.
I am really interested to see how this expansion turns out. AOII, DZ, and ZTA all closed when I was there, and Gamma Phi and AXiD were struggling. I am glad that ZTA is back and doing so well, and I am excited to see who else will join us.

I'm curious as to why you say it isn't "particularly desirable"? Because it's more of a commuter school?

I didn't mean it was undesirable, just that it's not one of the biggies that everyone gets excited about.

I'm not sure if Chi Omega chose not to present at Lehigh or if it was just missed on the original post, but the expansion timeline lists them as a finalist.

The West Chester University of Pennsylvania Interfraternity Council Expansion Committee announce a conclusion to the Expansion process. The committee determined that long term expansion at WCU would consist of three phases outlined below. The selected organizations all agreed to work collaboratively to evaluate and assess campus culture after each new chapter is established, which could potentially influence a shift in tentative dates listed below. The resulting list for Phase I & II should be viewed as an order of establishment with provisional dates. The Interfraternity Council will re-engage with the inter/national organizations listed in Phase III in the Spring of 2015 after the first two new chapters are established.
Phase I
Pi Kappa Alpha (Fall 2013)
Phi Gamma Delta (Fall 2014)
Phase II
Alpha Tau Omega (Fall 2015)
Sigma Chi (Fall 2016)
Phase III
Delta Upsilon
Lambda Chi Alpha
