reading everyone's creeds gives me goosebumps

Delta Omicron's Creed:

This truth comes to us more and more, the longer we live, that in what field, or in what uniform, or with what aims we do our duty, matters very little; or even what our duty is great or small, splendid or obscure, only to find our duty, certainly and somewhere, somehow do it faithfully, makes us good, strong, happy, and useful, and tunes our lives into some feeble echo of the life of God.

The Object of Alpha Omicron Pi

The Object of this fraternity shall be to stand at all times for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty; to strive for and support the best interests of the colleges and universities in which chapters are installed; and in no way to disregard, injure or sacrifice those interests for the sake of the prestige or advancement of the fraternity or any of its chapters.

The Preamble of the Constitution of
Delta Sigma Phi

The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity in convention assembled
declares and affirms the following principles:

That the belief in God is essential to our welfare.

That the loyalty to the constituted authority of our nations
and their subdivisions is a cardinal virtue of our brotherhood,
the pledged faith of which shall never be broken; and that our
brotherhood, receiving the blessings of liberty, education and
Fraternity, shall ever support, foster and defend our universities,
colleges and school systems, founded under the dispensation
of our governments and constituting the bulwarks of democracy
for us, for our posterity and for all men.

That the sanctity of the home and the sacredness of the family
bond, the hearthstone of our enlightened civilization, and the
chivalry of man toward woman, shall ever be maintained and protected
by us, not only for ourselves and our posterity, but also for the
good of all mankind.

That a symmetrical culture, a fraternal communion among the
colleges of this country, and a brotherhood of men, whose ideals
and beliefs are those of modern civilization, are essential to
the welfare of our college men.

In furtherance of these aims, this Fraternity has recognized
certain standards of attainment and gentlemanly conduct,
expressed in the ideals symbolically represented by the three
Greek letters, Delta, Sigma, Phi; and it shall be the constant
endeavor of the brothers who may be called upon to preside over and
govern the Fraternity, or it's component chapters, to enforce the
precepts of the fraternity by every reasonable means within
their power, and they, and each brother of the Fraternity shall
exemplify those principles by conduct as well as enforcement
in order that the Fraternity may grow and prosper with honor
to itself and that the world may ever be convinced
of the sincerity of our purpose.

The Symphony of
Alpha Xi Delta

These things do we earnestly desire:

A clear vision of life, that with gracious and
kindly hearts we may share both joy and sorrow
and bring into living reality the sisterhood of women.

An appreciation of real merit and worth,
steadfastness of soul, that without bitterness
or defeat we may encounter misfortune and
with humility meet success.

These things, O Lord, help us to instill within
our hearts that we may grow in courage
and graciousness and peace.

The Creed of Sigma Alpha Mu

“…To foster and maintain among its sons a spirit of fraternity, a spirit of mutual moral aid and support; to instill and maintain in the hearts of its sons love for and loyalty to Alma Mater and its ideals; to inculcate among its sons such ideals as will result in actions worthy of the highest precepts of true manhood, democracy, and humanity.”

The creed for Alpha Delta Pi...and I have to agree with everyone that all the creeds are just so moving, especially and always your own.

I Believe in Alpha Delta Pi.

I Believe that my sorority is more than a ritual, or a symbol; That it is a way of life.

I Believe that the princicples established by our founders in 1851 are enduring attributes, exemplifying the highest ideals of Christian womanhood.

I Believe that our motto, "We Live For Each Other", expresses the true spirit of fraternity; and that by living this motto my life will be enriched by true friendships and by unselfish service to mankind.

I Believe that the privilege of membership in Alpha Delta Pi brings the responsibility to do my best in whatever I undertake, always remembering that leadership requires confidence tempered with humility and courage blended with tolerance.

I Believe that I must strive to become a well-balanced person by following the dictates of the four points symbolizied by our diamond-shaped badge: first, strengthening my own character and personality; second, watching my attitudes toward my fellowbeings; third, recognizing the value of high educational standards; and fourth, developing faith and loyalty.

I Believe that these four guide posts, guarded by the stars and friendly hands clasped in the Adelphean bonds of fellowship will lead me to achieve a rich and useful life.

Sigma Alpha Iota does not have a creed, but we DO have a very beautiful Symphony which I'd like to share with you all:

The Symphony of Sigma Alpha Iota

To study and practice the goodness of life, the beauty of art, the meaning of music.

To sing the song of sincerity and universal peace.

To speak the words that build, that bless and comfort.

To play the harpstrings of loving kindness, tolerance, appreciation, and genuine gratitude.

To strive for the joy of simplicity, for the noble, to be faithful over a few things.

To listen, to be still and know the harmony from within.

To falter never in seeking loving service, wisdom, and understanding.

In a word to be loyal to Sigma Alpha Iota and her teachings; to find joy, hope, inspiration; to remember that "ever good gift and every perfect gift is from above" and "whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men."

And again to practice.

This is to be our Symphony.

I think it is so beautiful and touching...I get goosebumps everytime I read it or say it.

Phi Kappa Tau's Creed

The Creed of Phi Kappa Tau
Phi Kappa Tau, by admitting me to membership, has conferred upon me a mark of distictive in which I take just pride. I believe in the spirit of brotherhood for which it stands. I shall strive to attain its ideals, and by so doing to bring to it honor and credit. I shall be loyal to my college and my chapter and shall keep strong my ties to them that I may ever retain the spirit of youth. I shall be a good and loyal citizen. I shall try always to discharge the obligations to others which arises from the fact that I am a Fraternity man.

Isn't it neat?

Phi Mu and Sigma Nu both have "Love, Honor, Truth" as the cornerstone of our creeds and of our fraternity. I wonder if there is some kind of historical connection between us?

Love in our Bond,

The Creed of Sigma Appha Epsilon

The True Gentleman -

The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.

OK, someone already posted the Zeta creed, which I love. But I did want to say that if any of y'all get a minute, go to the Sigma Nu national website and read the long version of their creed. I think it's one of the best and it's incredibly moving and insightful.

Phi Sigma Sigma Founders Creed & Mission Statement

Our Founders Creed

To you, Founders of Phi Sigma Sigma, who gave us being and meaning on the twenty-sixth of November, in the year 1913, we dedicate anew your fraternity in its present extent. To the brotherhood of man and to the alleviation of the world's pain, twin ideals which drew you together, we repledge ourselves with new fervor. Witness to your reverence of the goal you set for us, this day shall see a nationwide votary, when all chapters of Phi Sigma Sigma shall do homage unto you and shall devote themselves in act and in belief to the selfless giving which knows no creed.

Our Mission Statement

To create an environment that fosters the advancement of womanhood and growth and development of each member through commitment to leadership, academic excellence, philanthropic service, good health and citizenship. We pledge to perpetuate these goals and ideals to all who will know us in the name of Phi Sigma Sigma.

Everyone's creed is so moving and powerful. Its the foundation and backbone of what each chapter stands for. We are all sitting on top of a gold mine as our creed will help guide us to become a better person. Make no mistake - learn it, live it, and believe in it!
