Random wedding question for a wedding I have coming up in a few weeks:

If a couple doesn't ask you to choose your meal on the RSVP card (e.g. chicken or beef), is it safe to assume that the meal will be a buffet? Nothing in the invite says anything about food.

I seriously couldn't believe that girl - I ended up turning off the episode after a little bit. My favorite part was when they went to sign the prenup and both lawyers were looking at them like they were crazy for getting remarried - which they were!

I've been to a few weddings like that - generally it is a buffet, but sometimes they pick things out for you. Once I went to one where the meal they picked out was a stuffed pork chop. I don't eat pork. There was no vegetarian option at all. Fantastic!

We did do the St. Mary's... and we had mucus woman... That was way too much. Funny how all of the women who practice NFP as birth control all had a minimum of seven kids!
Mucus woman?? Can I LOL and barf at the same time?! How many kids does she have, and were they all planned?

I'm just glad I belong to a religion where (a) birth control other than abstinence and NFP is allowed, and (b) you don't have to sit through a lecture on NFP to get married.

I hear ya on that one. We're at the end of the fiscal year here work too.

Thankfully my fiance has been a great helper with everything. He's a good invitation stuffer.

Seeing you guys talk about under 100 days has me realizing I have 36 days till my wedding! I know that it is now details, but wow has time gone quick. My dress arrived from Georgia yesterday. But the bridesmaid dresses are going to drive me batty! (Still not here, and they are not the color we picked out. Dark teal does not equal deep navy.)

However, we did book our Coldstone stuff yesterday. Can't wait for that!

Ok, I'm not Catholic- so what is NFP? Is that like, knowing when you're ovulating (and avoiding sex) as opposed to using a contraceptive?

I'm Baptist, and I know that our pastor tells couples that it's okay for them to use birth control, but of course every denomination is different.

Thank you.

I was also wondering what in the world someone's mucus would have to do with anything related to marriage counseling, so I looked up NFP on Wikipedia and promptly thanked God that I am not Catholic and therefore don't have to be subjected to any sort of "mucus woman-like" discussions. Ew.

^^^ I just looked it up too. I'm very appreciative of my faith as well right about now. But at least it's an alternative.

We are having Coldstone come to serve at our reception. I couldn't have my ice cream cake, so this was another option. Our DOC told me about it. We choose three flavors of ice cream and eight mix-ins. Our two favorite "creations" are going to be listed, but others can choose if they want something different. I can't wait!

The wedding is 36 days away, in my hometown. Does that help?

hah, I love how her second line was, "And I know the date of conception of all of them!".

Well, woopidy doo! Still, you've got SEVEN children...and I'm sure they'll all thank you for telling the world about what your temperature was when you concieved them.

Also: With the advocating of the man doing the temp taking/charting...how the hell is that supposed to inspire baby making? Alarm goes off at 7 am, man rolls over, sticks thermometer in mouth, checks the prevailing conditions, "Right! Let's get going!". I am NOT a pork roast! I can't possibly see that as romantic and intimate.
