Ohio State Gamma Phi Beta will participate in Round 1 of formal recruitment January 2014. They will continue their recruitment January 21, after Bid Day. Their goal will be the average chapter size, which currently is in the 140 range.

COB will be suspended for all 14 NPC chapters for a period of 3 weeks, as Gamma Phi Beta will host their marketing and recruitment weeks along with bid day. There will be no COB of any kind from January 21-Febraury 9, 2014. Chapters will still be able to snap bid if they do not reach quota after formal recruitment.

I just saw a tweet today that there are already 700+ registrants for formal recruitment at Iowa State. That's more than last year, and almost 200 more than just a few years ago. I think early registration ends this weekend (or maybe last weekend?) so I'm sure there will still be a few more women registering.

With the success of Kappa Delta's reorganization and the continued increase in PNMs, I'd think this could possibly open the door for expansion in the next five years.

I have some sisters who would knock over any other beyotch for the opportunity to be back at ISU. I'm sure we'll play nice when the time comes, but that's a school with a great Greek system, beautiful houses (except ours back in the day), and lots of potential. It just went through the same decline that so many schools we've already discussed went through and lost 3 or 4 chapters, if memory serves. I'm glad to see it's on the rebound because I had lots of fun road tripping to Ames through high school and college.

Housing would be the biggest roadblock. There are no more lots in Greekland on which to build a house, and many of the organizations that left either traded or sold their housing. And any land that had been available was snapped up by developers and turned into apartment complexes. A few chapters have managed to survive outside of Greekland, but most of those are fraternities that are on Welch, the main road through campus town.
