Ouch.
I still remember losing my first baby tooth. I sank my teeth into a piece of crumb cake, and one of them stayed there. Got a quarter from the tooth fairy. My mother, ever the packrat, kept all my baby teeth - they're probably still somewhere in the house where I grew up.
When I had my wisdom teeth extracted at age 19, my parents told me to put them under my pillow. I told them that I wasn't stupid and I'd stopped believing in the tooth fairy ages ago. I was told that the tooth fairy DID exist and that I had to put them under my pillow OR ELSE!  So I played along and got a $20 bill. (Like I said, I'm not stupid.)

You know, sometimes your gut just tells you someone is lying to you but you can't prove it... All you really want to do is figure out a way to catch them in that lie.

We're having one of those weeks when you wish your dog could talk. Teddy won't jump up on anything and doesn't even want to step up to come in the slider when he's been outside. Last night he acted like he couldn't walk for about a half hour. He doesn't seem to be in any obvious/chronic pain, but he acts like he's afraid something's going to hurt. I wish our vet had Saturday hours today.

I'll take a brownie or a cupcake.
I just finished putting together my 1400+ page portfolio for promotion to full professor. Then my husband took me out for a HUGE margarita. So far, I've backspaced 10 times to correct typos in this post (make that 13). I'm now (15) heading over to the Drunk! (16) thread....

I made the brownies and if there were a GC cookie shine or "cupcake" shine I would definitely bring cupcakes for you all!! :-) I bake a mean cupcake and I am not afraid to say I start with a box! I substitute melted butter for the oil, milk for the water, and add extra eggs. For some flavors, I add extra ingredients such as vanilla or nuts, etc. Whatever sounds good. People think I make them from scratch! You all know my dirty little secret now.

I do the same thing! I do custom make all of my frostings and fillers though, and add flavors as needed. Getting a good cupcake recipe is tough and I haven't yet found one that holds up to my cupcake chemistry the way a Pillsbury boxed cupcake does
