5. Why you joined ADPi - I wanted to join a sorority my sophomore year after seeing all of my friends go through recruitment and have amazing times and connections with their sisters last year. I went through formal recruitment, and it didn't work out. Alpha Delta Pi luckily was colonizing at JMU this year, and I was blessed to go through colony "recruitment" and was extended a bid! I was so excited with the idea of being a founding sister; I'd looked at ADPi over the summer before formal recruitment and loved it, so I realize now that I was meant to be an ADPi all along.
6. Favorite ADPi memory - Well, I've been a member for only a month or so now, but Bid Day was probably the best so far. We had our Bid Celebration and our Alpha Ceremony that same day, and it made me so much more connected to the sisterhood and solidified that I was joining a sorority. It was an unforgettable day.

I helped initiate you all! It was such an amazing experience!

Congratulations on your recent initiation. Enjoy your lifetime of ADPi.

1. University of Missouri
2. Alpha Gamma
3. Collegian
4. I am currently our Banner Chair
5. I already had some friends in ADPi who absolutely loved it, it was my number one choice throughout recruitment, and luckily they loved me as much as I loved them because they extended me a bid!
6. Initiation, Bid Day, meeting the women in my pledge class.

Welcome to the Alpha Delta Pi Forum, diamondgirl1851!! I love the pictures I've seen of your chapter house!

When you get a moment, you may want to read the Stickied Threads. Maybe not so much the ebay thread anymore, but the rest are important.

Glad to have you aboard!

I'll jump in

1. Hanover College
2. Phi (we were actually chartered as Alpha Delta Phi, the last chapter before the name change. The name was changed that summer, so we have a second charter with Alpha Delta Pi. I always thought that was cool )
3. Alumnae
4. Alumnae chair (briefly), default (but unofficial) music chair (long story), pride leader, and (much later!) chapter advisor
5. The women I met during rush were very genuine and had lots of things in common with me. I found I could spark up a conversation with any of them, even though I hadn't known many prior to formal rush.
6. Too many to narrow down, but our pre-initiation festivities/bonding, getting kidnapped by our Big Diamonds and taken to the House for a Christmas party (and cooked breakfast for us, too!), campus serenades, so many others.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party! I'm not the best at keeping up with things online, since that I'm starting to study for graduate exams and focus my time on that pursuit.

1. & 2. Chapter in KY (I'm not keen on sharing a ton of personal information online, sorry.)
3. Collegian
4. Technology Chair (past), Leadership Chair ([present) Recruitment Counselor (past and present)
5. By preference night, I really felt at home in my chapter. The women, especially the seniors, genuinely wanted to get to know me and help me feel less awkwardly shy around everyone. (I also loved the lion statues in our living room; as a Harry Potter fan, they just looked so cool. My guide for that night really cracked up when I mentioned it!)
6. Initiating my Little Diamond Sister. I honestly wasn't for sure if I was ever going to get a Little Diamond, since I went abroad my sophomore year and when I came back.. BOOM. There was a whole new class of people who needed Diamond Sisters as well. Luckily for me, my Little Diamond had joined my chapter of APO the previous semester. When she went through COR in January, we already knew each other and had plenty to talk about. It was so cool to see Initiation from the perspective of my Big and a really special experience to share it with my Little Diamond.

1. Ashland University
2. Epsilon Nu
3. Collegian
4. I am currently our Finance Assistant.
5. I decide to join a sorority because my freshman year was really rough. I needed a strong support system and I saw how happy so many of my friends were in sororities, but specifically in ADPi. The girls made me feel very welcome and I know that I could go to almost any of them at any time with anything.
6. I just joined last semester, so I don't have very many memories yet. However, the moment on Bid Day of running to my new sisters was absolutely amazing. They welcomed all of us. It was a swarm of hugs, tears, and smiles.

Welcome, txviolet! ADPi was my last choice going into Rush (which is what it was still called back then!), but by the time pref night came, I knew that's where I wanted to be. I went to a small school with only 4 sororities, so the big school stories like yours are very interesting to me; I love to hear how even if a girl doesn't get her first choice, it turns out to be exactly where she was meant to be.

Hoping that a new colony member introduces herself here! And, if you haven't introduced yourself before, ladies, it may be a good time to do so!

1. College or University - Mississippi State University

2. ADPi Chapter - Epsilon Eta

3. Collegian or Alumnae - Alumnae

4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held - Served as a Recruitment Counselor (Gamma Chi) during Recruitment 2014

5. Why you joined ADPi - I came to MSU as a junior, only knowing a handful of people. After going through (and eventually quitting)formal recruitment, I still felt like something was missing from my college experience. ADPi was recolonizing in January 2013, so I decided to give it a shot. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

6. Favorite ADPi memory - I'd have to say Bid Day 2014, when I got to run back home to ADPi after being disaffiliated the entire summer.
