Rushing as a junior to FSU?
I'm planning on rushing next fall 2016 at Florida State. I have a 3.3 GPA and my sister went was a Chi Omega. I was wondering if someone could give me tough love as to my chances of getting a bid? Would my sister being a Chi Omega give me a better chance for that sorority at FSU? Thank you in advance

First of all, before someone QFPs your post, you need to remove the identifying info. Second, FSU is a very competitive recruitment and your biggest issue is that GPA. It's pretty low for an upperclass transfer. And third,we can only tell you that if you don't sign up for recruitment, you'll never be in a sorority. So give it a try. Raise that GPA. Work on your activities. Get the resume together. And get 2 recs for every group at FSU.

The terminology you want to use is "receiving a bid" not "being recruited. " It's not the army or a cult.

Are you going to be taking classes at FSU next semester?

This is a forgivable mistake -- after all, NPC calls it "recruitment"

Yes and the terminology is stupid and needs to die in a fire, since unless sororities are meeting only with those women they've decided are suitable for membership, no "recruiting" is going on.

I really don't see what was so terrible about the term "rush."

Agree 1000% that the terminology was stupid.
And I'd love to hear rationale from anyone who thinks "rush" isn't about the most descriptive, appropriate term there is.

Hi! I'm a senior at FSU and my chapter does take juniors during fall recruitment. However I would say if you can raise your GPA, meet girls in the chapters during this semester and get involved on campus that would help tremendously.

Wishing you the very best and if you follow the above recommendations, I think you will likely find a "home". At the very least, you'll love FSU!
