Oh Peppy, that's heartbreaking. Praying for peace and for their child to come to them soon.

Peppy, I will definitely keep them in my prayers. My brother and his ex-wife went through something similar twice, although they hadn't gotten to the point of meeting the baby either time. It broke up their marriage in the end because of the stress of infertility treatments and then two adoptions falling through at the last minute . The good news is, my brother became a daddy for the first time, with his new wife, last September, at age 48.

Hey y'all, one of my Candidate Brothers, aka pledge brothers, has gone missing. He sent a few texts to some people today, one saying "I'm sorry", another saying "You were a great friend" and then sent one to his big brother's girlfriend that said "Does -big'sname- like surprises?" When asked what he meant, he didn't reply to anything. His phone was left in his car, which is parked outside of his apartment, but he didn't answer the door for several hours, so the police went it and he was not there, but all of his stuff was. Police and rescue are out looking for him right now. If y'all could keep him in your thoughts and prayers, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I just heard a wonderful sermon about character and how the "fires" we go through shape our character. It was so true--the hotter the fire, the purer the metal and that extends to all of us. We tend to think that the people who are peaceful and happy must not have any hardship in life but that is not always true. The pastor said that a woman accused her of having an easy life and that everything works out for her because she was so peaceful. The paster noted that she has a peace that doesn't make any sense because lots of things have gone wrong. She told the woman of her 10 miscarriages and 3 children stillborn and said her peace means that God is working even when her life isn't.

I wanted to share that in this thread because it's full of posts of things that have gone wrong. But we've all prayed for each other and sent good thoughts to everyone. Even when our lives aren't working, I believe God still is and I'm praying that every situation in this thread is healed soon. I wish peace for all of you. ♥

There's a couple in our church who've now lost their fortysomething son, daughter, and daughter-in-law to 3 different kinds of cancer. I wish y'all would pray for this couple; they will now be parents to their 2 grandchildren, who are in college but still need a loving place to come home to.

The daughter-in-law, who died over the weekend, was a KD at EKU.

Carnation,

I may know the KD. I grew up in Richmond. That is a strong chapter.

Man, this keeps following me around. In the Catholic church, our readings go Old Testament, New Testament, Gospel. And two weeks ago, one of them was 1 Peter 3:9. There's more to it, but the gist is this:

Quote:
In this you rejoice, although now for a little while
you may have to suffer through various trials,
so that the genuineness of your faith,
more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire,
may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
I posted about it on Facebook, then a friend of mine responded that he's preaching from 1 Peter this whole month. Then it came up in a conversation with an Orthodox friend last week. And your post reminded me of it. Hmm. Something to ponder.

I'm still hoping for a little miracle of my own. I need/want to leave Oklahoma and go back to PA to be with my husband. I heard about an opening in my field at a place I've worked before, in Pittsburgh. And I want it bad. I'm just hoping that someone wants me back

He twittered/Facebook'd again. It's a little worse and they may put in a tube to re-inflate it. He's going for another x-ray at 6 to see how things are going.
