RIP Barbara Park—Author of Junie B. Jones Books

Barbara Park, author of Junie B. Jones books, dies at 66 of ovarian cancer.

We read those books over and over in our family, and so many of Junie B.'s expressions became part of our everyday conversations. Kind of sad around here right now.

Long before Junie, she wrote Skinnybones, which is at least 30 years old, but still in print.

I read it in second grade (30 years ago) and remember the plot like it was yesterday.

This is so sad. Her books are tattered and well loved in my school library. They are rarely on the shelf for long.
