I saw Tron tonight, and it was kind of predictable. It wasn't a bad movie, though.

This is a typical Coen Brothers film. The language/diction is very dramatic and the story line stays very close to the original. Jeff Bridges does a great job as Rooster Cogburn. Matt Damon is okay. Hailee Steinfield is great as Maddy Ross.

Not as violent as I thought it would/could be but definitely not light on violence. Surprisingly very little foul language in this film. Funny in certain sections. Definitely worth seeing.
Just saw this last night. The dialogue was very witty and fast. Listening to Matt Damon lisp for half the movie was pretty funny. Hailee Steifield was excellent as Maddy Ross.

I am not a devoted movie goer, but I went with my daughter to see "The King's Speech." It was wonderful and I will put it on my Netflix to watch again. Well worth the money. The acting was just terrific.

Absolutely wonderful movie. CF must get the Oscar or it's a fraud.

I also saw True Grit today and liked it a lot.

Saw Tangled tonight.
Cute, but not fantastic. Laughed out loud a couple times. Would be a great movie for a 7 year old girl, so if you have kids, this is something they'd enjoy seeing. Definitely the target audience obviously, but I still enjoyed it.

I was thinking about seeing that, but I wasn't sure. I was just hoping that it wasn't a boring movie. I love movies that are based on true history, as long as they're not boring.

I saw "Country Strong" at a preview showing last night. Even if you don't like country music, it's a good movie. I have never been a Gwyneth Paltrow fan, but she did a great job in the movie. Tim McGraw was unbelievable - I forgot it was him a couple of times. The actor playing the other male lead was good and is a great singer. Leighton Meester was so so. Nice voice, but I wasn't impressed with her acting. She seemed to be trying to hard to play ingenue/naive.

Saw it last night. Excellent. Helena Bonham Carter was also very, very good. 5 out of 5 stars.

We saw it in 3-D because my son wanted to. I have yet to see a 3-D movie that I thought was worth the extra cost and the pain of those glass (which mute the colors).

Story was very predictable, and special effects just cannot carry a movie for me if I don't care about the story.

2.5 out of 5 stars.

The reason for both of these was that it wasn't a remake of the John Wayne movie; it was a new adaptation of the book and is more faithful to the book than the earlier movie. Since the book is written in first person with Mattie as the narrator, foul language (of which she would not approve) is kept to a minimum.

I actually thought it was better than the John Wayne version. I particularly enjoyed the soundtrack (I really pay attention to the music in movies, and I loved hearing Iris DeMent at the end) and the cinematography. Another excellent movie. 5 out of 5 stars.

Ditto, I totally agree. I'm definitely not a fan of 3-D.

I know it's received mixed reviews, but I'd give Black Swan 4 stars. It was engaging and dramatic, and Natalie Portman was phenomenal. I obviously love dance, though, so I might be more interested in it than the average person. I think some of it might really hit home for any of you have ever danced.

The only thing I've seen Recently was Harry Potter 7 Part 1 and I was duly impressed with the fact that the trek through the woods was WAY more interesting than in the book. Hopefully I'll see a movie or two in the next week.

Seriously?! I thought The Fighter was amazing. Christian Bale was unbelievably good.. and after seeing the real Mickey Ward and Dicky Eklund during the credits, I think both Bale and Wahlberg played the parts extremely well.

I also enjoyed seeing Lowell, MA and recognizing some of the places I've been to in that city. And all I have to say is... when you're fighting at the Hampton Beach Casino in NH, you know you've made it to the big leagues Their comment about the hotel being across the street from the casino made me laugh.. anyone who's vacationed there every summer as a kid like I did would understand.

I agree with everyone that says that True Grit was good.. and I especially agree with the bolded. The movie was a little slower than what I'm used to, but I actually enjoyed it. I always love the obvious, yet subtle symbolism the Coen Brothers use in their films.

I just saw Black Swan last night. I really liked it overall..I kind of wish there hadn't been so much foreshadowing though. I would love to see an alternate ending if they have one when the DVD comes out, but I doubt it since that's usually only with action-y movies.
I don't think my boyfriend thought it was at great as I did though, so I'd say it's more geared towards women.

Still, a great movie, and I'd definitely see it again.

.
What a wonderful movie. Loved it. I totally agree with you. Our theater was packed also, which, although it meant we got crap seats because we didn't think so many people would be interested in the film and kind of moseyed in close to start time, was nice to see that so many people were interested in the film. The audience burst into applause at the end. Might have to see it again. I'm glad Firth and Rush were nominated in different categories for Golden Globes.
