Skit Themes
Hey everyone!
Well, this formal recruitment will be the last year for out skit. We need to come up with a new skit for next year. We changed ours three years ago to an MTV theme to be different from the other GLOs. However, now everyone is doing something along those lines and we are ready to be the first to bring something new again.
We want something high energy because at my campus serious skits do not seem to go over well.
Any suggestions would be awesome!
Thanks

I don't know that if by an MTV theme, you mean reality shows, but what about a reality show theme. You could do something like "The Apprentice." It could be "The New Member" and your president could be Donald Trump, and your New Member Ed and VP Membership could be George and Carolyn. Some of your sisters could be candidates on the show. They could do tasks involving KD, like raising money for our philanthropies.
Or maybe you could do a game show, where all the questions are KD related. You could throw in things about prizes, like "The winner of this question gets to go on a spring break vacation" and you could talk about what your sisters do for spring break. Or something like, "the winner of this question will have $10,000 donated to Prevent Child Abuse America" and then you can talk about Shamrock.
My school has never done skits, so I really don't have any suggestions on how you could pull these off, but they are some ideas at least. Good luck with everything!

Haha, I like The Apprentice idea. I don't think my sisters would, but I totally do.
We did a KD airplane trip to diff chapters all over the country from 01-03. Our CDC's always loved and a lot of other chapters have sinceforth started doing it too. We did songs based on KD (I can share with you) and had dancing.
This past year we did a broadway casino type thing with singing (songs turned into KD- like "Kappa Delta what a wonderful phrase" instead of Hakuna Matata, with dancing as well. It was okay, just perhaps a little too slow in some places. Not my fave, but still great efforts from all the sisters.
I have some ideas I'll post later (I'm about to run out right now). But a good way to go is picking something timeless that you can use year after year with just re-vamping and updating certain areas. And I'd definitely say pick something that's liked across the boards, so that everyone can relate to it somehow. And most importantly, stay true to your chapter and do something that reflects all the sisters so that potential members can see it and really get a feel for what you girls are like. I'm sure you know all this, I'm just reiterating the idea.
