Question

Are most of your locals planning/attempting to affiliate with a national? If so, what is the reason for this?

My house has been local since 1992, and we like it that way. We get the same recruitment as the nationals on our campus, and a lot more freedom.

Just curious, because several of the threads in this forum about that sort of thing.

My local is considered an underground sorority on campus and we'd like to actually try to grow into a national organization. We'd rather stay local but we want campus recognition.

Makes sense. The sororities at my school at half national/half local, and the locals participate in rush, are governed by the same council, and basically are not treated any differently from national sororities.

In your case, where being a national is the only way the school will officially recognize you, I'd probably do the same.

Good luck.
