After a month, I am finally done with this cold. I have never had one stick around this long, but then again the weather has been quite bi-polar. It was 68 on Wednesday and today we had freezing rain and snow.

If you need to brush up (or learn) your Spanish/French/German/Italian/Portuguese, I cannot recommend the DuoLingo app enough. I'm seriously addicted to it-- drills disguised as games, and immersion-ish learning, and it's free. And good UX/UI design. I have a Brazilian client, and this has seriously saved my butt this week. GoogleTranslate is NOT your friend. Proportion is NOT the same thing as Pornstar.
And no, not a paid advert, just really enjoying this.

I need to go shopping for a desk and bookshelves, and I REALLY don't want to do it. I think I'm going to take a stab at a couple thrift stores to see if I can get lucky before giving up and heading out to Nebraska Furniture Mart, the Disneyworld of furniture stores, with parking to match.

Yes, it's very easy to do: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=134750 Changing that option in your control panel will turn off most of the advertising as well as the "subscribe to GC" ad post.

Ok, mint chocolate cake and pecan spice cake are done, cranberry sauce is chilling, turtle brownies and roasted red potatoes are in the oven... And this is just Christmas pay number one. This pregnant lady is tired.

I'm playing a ballet this Xmas season--The Nutcracker. So many notes. Had a rehearsal Friday evening, Saturday morning, then a performance tonight and one again tomorrow afternoon.
My violin playing muscles are tired as ****.

Talk about a nuke-the-stadium game for Michigan fans.
I am so excited to go home. I've already started my New Year's resolution to get in better shape, and I can't wait to be able to purchase my own food instead of relying on what the dining hall offers me.

Seriously... Most Michigan fans will root for State when they're up against Ohio State. I can't say the same about State fans. I've seen a lot of State fans root for anybody who is playing Michigan. But to a Michigan fan, the most important thing is somebody, anybody beats Ohio State.

AGDee speaketh the TRUTH! Michigan is Michigan State's biggest rival. But Ohio State and Michigan are each other's biggest rivals. In the loathing rankings, Ohio State is absolutely reviled. Michigan State wins the "lesser of two evils contest."
My daughter received several admissions brochures and e-mails from OSU when she was in high school. She wrote "Go Blue!" on all the postage-paid cards and sent them back.
As Desmond Howard said yesterday, he wanted a 0-0 tie (you may not have been able to hear him on College Game Day, because the OSU fans boo him whenever he speaks).
