I finished "You Get Past the Tears" and it was a really good book!!! I recommend it to ever'body! I'm not sure what I'll read next, but I'll let you know soon, since I have a good variety to choose from.

Overall I liked the book. I think it was very informative and gives alot of social context surrounding the word. However I think it had a bit too much of his opinion in it and would rather have liked a more objective approach. His writing style wasn't dry and was fun to read, but I also felt that some his points he could have made using simpler language. Overall I'd recommend this book.

The next book I plan to read is "Caucasia" by Danzy Senna. Anybody read?

I decided that I would read 10 books by the time I return to work. I've read 2 so far. I need 7 more books. Tomorrow, I'm beginning "Hand Me Down Heartache" by Soror Tajuana Butler. It's only been in my possession since last July when I purchased it at Boule.
I'm excited to say that I started reading my 10th book last night. I"m reading "Casting the First Stone". I have about 2.5 weeks or so before I go back to work. So, I have met my challenge. I am SOOOOOO proud of myself.

*Yay for me!*

I think I'll continue to read at least 1 book a month.

"The Night Before 30" was good! Ladies, you should read it!

East of Eden

I just finished reading East of Eden. It is a really good book that I would suggest for others to read. It's the story of two families and how their lives parallel the fall of Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel, with some twists added throughout. It's kind of a long read (600 pages), but I think it's worth it, it makes you think about some things

I bought the book today @ Wal-mart for $16.87 (hard back). It will be a couple of weeks before I am able to read it.

I just finished reading, "The Women of Brewster Place" by Gloria Naylor this past weekend. It only took me about two days, including interruptions. It's just as good as the movie!!!!! I'm about to read another book and I'll let you know what it is soon.
