There is a local group (which never had any ties to a national sorority) that does have its own recruitment process, possibly around the same time as Panhellenic does. They also are known to haze egregiously, a path I hope these women don't take.

I just read the slightly hysterical notice on Penn's Greek life site concerning that group and the underground men's groups. It reminded me of Gore Vidal's conclusion at the end of this clip.

I can't imagine a more ineffective structure to stamp out underground groups than talking about how they have no adult oversight and can do whatever they want where alcohol is concerned.

Delta Zeta will be colonizing at Western Kentucky University in the fall of 2015. (per DZ's Twitter and WKU's Panhellenic's Twitter)

Our St. Louis Alumnae Chapter is one of our largest and strongest. There would be no lack of support for a recolonized chapter!

Fingers crossed!

Edit--I did click around and they are mostly IFC fraternities with the exception of FGCU. The FGCU organizations were also suspended LAST YEAR no this past March.

“ Delta Upsilon returned to the University of Iowa as a colony in 2012. Now, the fraternity's charter will be returned this Saturday in a public ceremony, and will initiate 58 new members.”
I think "this Saturday" means April 11, 2015.

TKE suspended at Louisville. Hazing allegations.

Per one comment reply in this article, pledges paint their body and volunteer to be designated drivers to "gain points". The more points gained the better your chances of getting in.

AXO at Penn is a 190 member chapter, and their. I would find it very hard to believe that they will be able to maintain that success by not participating in formal recruitment at Penn. On top of that, they live in university owned housing, which they lose by leaving campus. Double whammy. All of this over lying about hazing...not worth it.

I don't know if there have been any updates, but it didn't sound like this was a done deal as far as the charter goes. AXO nationals may terminate/give them alum status and reorganize, and work out their own future arrangements with the university, and maybe even keep the house. I highly doubt the current members have as much power as they think they do.
