2nd Hardest Recruitment in Nation?
I've heard that UGA has the second most difficult recruitment experience in the nation...only behind Ole Miss. Can anyone verify this?
Rush seemed particularly brutal this year...tons of cuts and dropouts.

What would be the criteria for labeling a recruitment "the most difficult?"
It depends on who you ask. I'm sure there are alumnae from any of the SEC schools that would argue that their school has the toughest recruitment.
I can think of LSU, Bama, Auburn, UF, etc off the top of my head.

I would like to add on to what KSUViolet06 has said and say that the difficulty of the recruitment depends on who you are. I view UGA as one of the "easier" recruitments in the sense that they take a lot of out-of-state girls, even in the "choosy" sororities. You don't see this happening as much at places such as UT, Ole Miss, and Bama.
There are also a TON of sororities at UGA so it's easier in the sense that, there will be one for you? If that makes sense. I have heard the UGA 2nd most competitive thing before though and I think it comes from numbers of how many girls go through rush vs. how many spaces (which doesn't really make sense if you consider how quota is set...) but I guess there are a ton of girls competing for "just a few" sororities. but visiting a tonnn of houses over very short periods of time calls for long days and a lot of confusion, and the sheer number of girls and sororites can make it harder to be "remembered". I think these two factors definitely make UGA recruitment difficult, especially to a PNM considering only a few sororities.

I would have thought that Indiana with the cuts they have to make for bed rush would have been the most brutal, if it is possible to measure that. And we cannot leave out the Southwestern Conference, since I am sure most of the girls going through recruitment at Texas think recruitment there is brutal. Why should we try to measure this anyway? It is what it is. It is not like it can really make it any better for the girls that are cut, regardless of where their recruitment is located.

Everyone says they're "the most competitive" or "the toughest" because it makes the Greek system sound more elite. It's a lame claim. Don't pay attention to it.

One thing about SEC recruitment....those schools are honest about the need for recs, and the possibility of heavy cuts. My own recruitment took place many years ago, at a west coast school with a recruitment that was billed as laid back and noncompetitive, and it was anything but! About a third of the girls withdrew, or were released. It may be different now, but I suspect that it hasn't. I suspect that a "non-competitive " recruitment is an oxymoron.
