I spent the evening at the Chapter checking on workshop progress. Looking good so far! Everybody's excited and the attitude is positive. Let's hope it lasts.
Bama's Panhellenic is speculating quota will be around 75 based on 1,350 PNM's. Higher if more sign up in these last few days.

Arkansas has 950 as of 3 months ago, and 7 sororities...quota will be around 90 a pledge class. WAAAY too big.

Is this another deal where if the sorority hasn't been around since Laura Ingalls Wilder they can't succeed?

Didn't you hear? Laura was in my sorority! Then she took her badge to the moon!
/SEC recruitment still sounds scary to me

Its so fun & exciting. I can't wait to help out again this year, especially after I missed last year while traveling for work.

We weren't "no frills" except for one night of recruitment, but the "hard core" rush thing is kinda scary. To be fair, I never really recruited myself as I was blessed with computer skills and hung out with the alumnae. (YAY for no workshops)

I hope not because we are in the process of colonizing there.

Nope—Phi Mu came to UA in 1923 and DG in 1930, well before some others that are still going strong (ADPi, 1957, and KD, 1989).

I disagree to an extent.
Alpha Delta Pi 1957
Alpha Chi Omega 1961-1977
Delta Gamma 1930-1992
Delta Delta Delta 1913
Zeta Tau Alpha 1903
Kapp Alpha Theta 1966-1989
Kappa Delta 1989
Kappa Kappa Gamma 1925
Pi Beta Phi 1909
Phi Mu 1923-1996 they had a recolonization in there, and I don't know how long they were off campus between. Their recolonization was pretty short-lived I think.
Chi Omega 1895 (founding chapter)
KD is the only chapter that isn't at least 50 years old, and last year was KD's first time to take quota. It seems very similar to Ole Miss in terms of breaking through. And not everyone on campus is "going strong" unfortunately. Obviously AOII believes we can be successful, but it would be misleading to suggest that this won't be very challenging.

Best wishes to the PNMs and the chapters -- older, newer, or colonizing -- at the university.

It ought to be, they're knocking down my whole old apartment building to build it! (It should've been knocked down over 30 years ago, my bathroom ceiling fell in while I was brushing my hair.)
They'll be really close to campus! The parking lot behind it was where my grandparents' house was--the school couldn't knock that gorgeous old white house down fast enough after my grandmother died.
