Non Alcoholic Margaritas
Has anyone ever tried making non-alcoholic 'ritas from those bucket mixes you can buy at the grocery store? I am having a party that most definitely must be no alcohol involved. I read a lot of recipes that call for limeade, but when you are serving 60 people, you don't want to buy 20 cartons of limeade when one bucket serves like 18 people!
Anyway - on the bucket it just says "add a bottle of Tequila," mix, and freeze. Since I am not a huge drinker (and can't STAND tequila), I don't know what to replace it with!
So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know - thanks

If you're going to go the non-alcoholic route, do strawberry daiquiris instead.

If you are making frozen non-alcoholic margaritas, the only thing I've ever used was the frozen limeade mix. As a substitute for tequila, you could use either a juice (one of the nectar juices) or a mix of the nectar juice and ginger ale.

The party is called Margaritaville! (Not by my choice!) I myself do quite prefer strawberry daiquiris

Can you make them strawberry margaritas? I mean without the alcohol, can anyone really tell the difference?
Or do half and half?

LOL - I never thought about strawberry margaritas! Do you know how to make the virgin version?
Kevlar - long story, but basically it boils down to an outside group that is doing an event with the sorority. I told them I would provide refreshments - of course being a sorority thing, no alcohol can be present.

With a Margaritaville theme, you can do tons of non alcoholic frozen drinks-- margaritas, daquaris, pina coladas, etc...
Mild-Eyed Margaritas
2 cups lemon or lime soda
2 tablespoons sugar
Juice of 1/2 lime
Salt
Crushed ice
Pour soda into ice cube tray or shallow pan, freeze. Place frozen soda in blender, add lime juice and sugar. Blend until well-mixed. Rub lime around rim of glass and then dip glass into salt.
Pour mixture over crushed ice and then into salted rim glasses. Garnish with lime slice.
(MADD website)
Virgin Raspberry Daiquiri recipe
3 oz raspberry puree
2 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz lemon juice
1 tsp caster sugar
1/2 oz raspberry syrup
Blend briefly with half a glassful of crushed ice in a wine goblet. Garnish with raspberries, and serve.
Safe Sex on the Beach recipe
3 oz cranberry juice
3 oz grapefruit juice
2 oz peach nectar
1 maraschino cherry
Pour over ice in a chilled glass and stir. Garnish with a cherry.
Virgin Pina Colada recipe
7 oz pineapple juice
2 oz coconut cream
1 cup crushed ice
Add the pineapple juice, coconut cream and crushed ice to a blender; blend at high speed. Pour into a collins glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, a pineapple wedge, and serve.

Also, Bacardi makes a ton of frozen drink concentrate mixes you can purchase in the freezer section at the grocery store. You're supposed to blend with alcohol or you can serve them without blending the alcohol--- these could be an easy solution.
Offer a variety of frozen virgin drinks, play some Jimmy Buffet and dress like you're headed for a day on the beach in Key West--- you're all set!

Go to Your Local Beerage Center! Are You allowed?
You can buy Marg Mix that has No Alochol in it, and really isnt that hard. Reg Margs and Strawberry Margs.
Sounds like a fun party.
Frozen, add ice in a blender. Searve with salted glasses. Get some Lemons and CUT THEM and run around the edge of the glasses and dip in Salt.
Have a good time.
