One post is enough. Someone will answer you eventually.

If we are talking about USC as in Southern California, it is difficult for a transfer student to get a bid just because most of the sororities prefer freshmen. I've heard of the occasional sophomore getting a bid, but typically not a junior.

Unforuntately, I dont' know anyone that could make me personal recs. Is that really important? Will that jeopardize my chances during rush??

She might be an international student...
I don't know many people who call university "uni" other than internationals.

Or refer to "college" as "university" in general.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but this could not be more incorrect. Sophomores have an identical chance as freshmen at USC. Pledge classes are generally 2/3 freshmen, 1/3 sophomores for even the most competitive chapters, and when you factor that there are way more freshmen that rush, statistically sophomores and freshmen have the same chances. I know girls in DG, Theta and ADPi there and they all have said that they do not care if the girl is a sophomore. I also know a couple girls that went through as sophomores (both transfers and girls that just didn't rush freshman year) and they had full schedules and ended up in very competitive sororities.
Juniors admittedly have a harder time because each sorority only takes 2 due to a free junior rule. But if you are technically a sophomore then you should have no problem whatsoever.
