Congrats on the new job!

I've been relatively quiet lately. I'm getting caught up on everything in life that I'd put on hold over the summer while my mom was sick. This weekend is Alpha Gam catch up time because I don't even have my files created yet... eek!

My girlie is keeping me so busy with her marching band stuff but the kids are off with dad this weekend and, other than an informational meeting on Sunday about this Student Ambassadors program she wants to attend, there is nothing on the schedule.

It's 85 degrees in Detroit in October. What's up with that??

Thanks... I'm still going to be working for drug court but I'll be a caseworker... I like what I do now but this is a step up and away from the administrator (paperwork) side. I'll be working with 3 new counties with three different ways of doing things... right now I have only 1 county with only 1 way of doing things. So I am excited about all the new things I'm going to learn.

One of the GREAT things is that I will be in Georgetown at least 2 days a week!!! So I will feel more connected to my chapter because I'll be back in the area to just stop by and say hi to the girls... where as now I'm never in the area. I'm also looking forward to being able to call my aunts up and see if they want to have dinner or something.

And yet another great thing is that I won't have to deal with traffic everyday because the drive will be back roads... it is a longer trip to work every day but quicker because there won't be any traffic!!!!

So I have three more weeks with my current position and then I will start the first of November.

On to another note... Theta Upsilon is getting ready for homecoming. Songfest is the BIGGEST thing and is really big with FR coming up in January... so please keep all the Theta Upsilons in your thoughts and prayers over the next week. Pray that they all keep the spirit of sisterhood going and the stress of homecoming week and school work stays low.

There is going to be a training session for Ga advisors on Sat. I think that this is a wonderful idea and hope it spreads.

I just got a phone call from my mother and she told me that an uncle of mine passed away this morning. He was 53 years old and the picture of health, but he died in his sleep. I'm completely stunned as I'm typing this.

I would appreciate it if you all would say a prayer for my Uncle Tommy, and for his wife and kids.

I realize that by buying a house and getting engaged at the same time I took on a lot of stress, but seriously when does the moving in process stop and the living there begin? I can't take another night of painting, moving boxes, unpacking boxes or putting my office together (I work from home).

Well, we moved everything from the storage place back to the house under 3 hours (cause it would have cost us $10/hr more).

I want to have the house up for sale 2/1/07 with almost the entire house packed because we are definitely hiring a moving van this time.

I made sure I kept all the Christmas stuff together this time so I can decorate and then pack/throw away quicker.

(Sarah, it takes several months to feel "I'm all moved it, I can find everything". but it gets easier.

Can't believe that I forgot to post this, but just wanted to let the girls know that Pumpkin has a new baby brother! He's a long haired chihuahua named Reilly. Very cute and a total snuggler. Pumpkin had a few minor sibling rivalry issues at first but they're both doing fine.

I'll post pictures soon!

The rafts are actually OK--this would be because its too cold to be in the water! So they are safely stowed in the side yard where they can avoid sharp little chihuahua teeth and claws.

The one thing I was unprepared for: one starts barking and gets the other one riled up. Oh my lord, the racket! Little bodies should not house voices that loud! Guess they take after their mama.
