Saturday afternoon was the bid day for the Indiana University colony of Sigma Kappa! There are photos of the LARGE colony on the Sigma Kappa Facebook page. The girls were excited and so happy, the day was a success!

East Tennessee State University is opening for NPC expansion! It's still early stages, so no word on who will be presenting yet! I've got my fingers crossed since it would be local for me!

Thank you to everyone who sent messages to me IRL. The experience was truly surreal; seeing happy girls wearing our letters back on our campus was a dream come true. Knowing one of those happy girls for pretty much her entire life was even better. My great great grand's real daughter is a new colony member. I have already made purchases for her. I don't have children, so I get to play fairy godmother.

Phi Mu will return to William & Mary this fall. The Flat Hat reported the final Panhellenic vote was on Sunday. I am happy for the chapter.

Congrats on your return to W&M. We are re-colonizing this week at W&M. Nice to see greek life expanding.
Here's an article about both organizations returning to campus.

This campus has been off-and-on open for expansion for several years. Is there anything different about this opening, as in the very old local finally wishing to affiliate with an NPC group?

That's difficult to say for a couple of reasons:
#1- The North-American Interfraternity Council (NIC) does not have agreements between all the fraternities about expansion like the National Panhellenic Council does, so we don't have a bulletin to announce when an IFC expands.
#2- Each campus is doing fraternity expansion differently. Some campuses (Baylor University, Florida Gulf Coast University for examples) are asking for presentations and setting calendars for expansion. Some campuses (University of Texas-San Antonio, Armstrong State University) are allowing groups of undergrad men to form interest groups and allowing them to approach national fraternity offices to colonize.

How is that possible when they still don't have a Panhellenic Council?

When a second NPC group arrives at a campus it is the duty of the first NPC group there to take initiative to establish a chapter of college Panhellenic. There can't be an NPC chapter when there is only one NPC at a school (that is, a chapter cannot be started in anticipation of more NPC sororities).
