Question U of Alabama- What is a "swing house"

I saw on Sigma Kappa's NPC UA info page stated that they are located in a "swing house". I was just curious about what that means.

When Phi Mu's new house was being built, they lived in that house on campus, it is an older sorority house. I think the term swing is just used because it's an extra house that chapters can use while their new facility is being built, etc. The house that Kappa Alpha Theta lived in while their new home was under construction was the former AGD house. So swing house is just another house on campus that's not permanently in use and claimed by a chapter.

That makes sense. Thank you!

Yes the old ADPi and AGD houses have been used by fraternities as well. Same for the old SDT house back in the beginning of all this crazy construction there!

From the press release when they colonized last year:

"Duffy said the sorority hopes to build a house within the next three to five years."
