Best Fraternity Service Project Ever

Apparently a fraternity that I will not name has volunteered to help out at the Miss Chicago pageant tomorrow. They will be the guys that dress up in suits and walk us onto stage for the different segments of the competition.

Miss Chicago is a prelim for Miss Illinois and Miss America. The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's largest providers of scholarships to young women.

So these young men are getting community service time in...but I suspect they have alterior motives.

Pretty smart, if you ask me.

car care clinic

I saw this idea on the local news; it could be a great Social and/or Philanthropy event for a fraternity.

How to make it a philanthropy event: charge $10 and send proceeds to charity
How to make it a social event: invite girls, you decide whether to charge or not

Titles: Car Care Class/Clinic, Car Care 101, Daddy’s Little Girl, Powder Puff Academy
Mood of the event: Empower women (nothing condescending), help drivers feel safe and secure and be aware of their car
What to teach: Check air pressure, change tires, what to know to not be at the mercy of a mechanic
What you need: a working automobile, tools, spare tire, jack, the space to demonstrate, serve a light refreshment
