THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER! as of this moment, I am still undecided. But...

in response to the comments about Bush's performance in Texas:

the bill that was passed in the last Texas legislative session that brought healthcare to thousands of needy children....

was violently lobbied AGAINST by the Bush camp and Republican legislators. It passed anyway, despite his efforts.

I do have a problem with Bush claiming on national TV that the CHIP bill was "HIS" doing, when he actually was one of the strongest opponents....

and... Bush DID also say during the second debate that Texas passed a "hate crimes" bill, alluding that it was his tenure as governor we have to thank for the bill.

Texas does NOT have any "hate crimes" legislation or law, courtesy of Bush's actions during the last legislative session. He was intentionally misleading on that issue during the 2nd debate. I don't have a problem with either position on the hate crimes issue... but I do dislike the misrepresentation that has been consistent throughout Bush's campaign.

33girl,

No, I did not catch that episode and I wish I had. I had no problem passing all three parts of the TAAS the first time. I just hate to see students bust their butts to pass regular classes but can't graduate with friends because they were one or two points short of the minimum passing requirement.

I also remember having tests just dumped on us when I was in elementary school. Anyone remember the California Achievement Test or "CAT"?

I believe both candidates have misrepresented the facts. They are politicians. Although I tend to stick with G.W. Bush because I know where he stands(Bad or Good) on issues rather than Gore. He would make a dynamite Commander in Chief. In my opinion I also feel that Bush is more of a humble man than Gore who I think is quite the opposite. I just wonder about Gore sometimes and I think he is too power hungry in terms of Government. My vote is definitely with Bush and I believe he is by far a better choice.

I think both candidate suck. Both the Democrat and Republican party are to blame for the apathy of the American public toward politics. It's time we let other in ball game. Whether Reform, Green, Constitution, etc. Why is it that they are afraid to debate other parties. I know it will be more interesting if we have three or four people debating. Bore and Hush are pretty much the same. 'Cept the rhetoric are different. Imagine if Nader and Buchanan are put in the debate with Bore and Hush. You will definately see a difference. I'm voting NADER. And for NY Senate, Clinton, cause Lazio is a biggot.

I'm with ya on Nader. If I vote, I'm voting for him. I'm not going to vote in the WV elections. I'm not giving my vote away. WV candidates actually campain to allow prayer in school and posting the ten commandments. It's rediculous. I'm not supporting that.

I was just about to ask if anyone was thinking of Nader. How old is that guy anyway? Hasn't he run for president the past 3 or 4 times? Anyway, for the most part, I like Nader. Of course, I often think I should be the leader of the universe, but if it can't be me, might as well choose the best alternative I can find.

Secret? I voted democratic socialist in '96. I've calmed down a little (was a junior at a hippy liberal arts school at the time), but I still lean left, so I like Nader. But then I know that, in all reality, voting for Nader is like wasting a vote. I used to think "a vote for a candidate you don't really want is what is truly a wasted vote." But that was just a pretty cliche. Neither Nader nor any candidate like him will be president in all my years on earth, so I might as well choose the democrat in "the closest race in 40 years" and feel like my vote is actually going to make a difference.

And wow! I didn't know Canada and England shared a queen. I didn't even know Canada had a queen! I thought they just had a prime minister and that was it.
