Check out this link. I feel like it has some pretty good ideas.
Keep in mind that a good recruitment event has a clear and identifiable "purpose" and a clear and identifiable "audience".
Looking at a few of your events:
- Poker and Pizza
- Pool
(My personal favorite)
- Once we had a projector outside and watched football
While I can tell you that I personally love poker (and pizza!), I have never had an intimate conversation with someone during a game. Remember your NIC 5 steps:
Meet them
Make them your friend
Introduce them to your friends
Introduce them to your Fraternity
Ask them to join
Now the second and third steps (the bolded steps) are what your events are for. Pool has a very strict limit to the number of people you get to meet, and poker isn't much better. Watching football is a good one-on-one activity, but it's going to be hard holding a good conversation while the game is going.
Also, consider your audience. What kind of guys do you want to join your Chapter. Who do you need? Who do you want? My Chapter was looking to get guys more interested in service and philanthropy. We held an event called "service and steak" where we worked together renovating an after-school center for low-income families. Not only was it an inspiring and unique event, but we ended up attracting some incredibly service-minded men into our Chapter.
