Wink Pass It On revisited!

I had to think of GC this morning at church, because the youth choir sang Pass It On! (without the sorority revisions of course) Obviously there are not many Greek alums in the congregation or they would have stood up and started to sing along. I can only hope some of the girls go thru rush in a few years and start cracking up when they hear that song.

I learned Pass It On at church. When I went through rush and heard them sing it, I thought I knew it, but then there were Delta Zeta words and I was confused...

HAHA, we used to sing Pass It On in our pref night ceremony. We recently revamped the ceremony so we don't sing it anymore but it will always remind me of pref night anyway. It's so funny how many different chapters sing it!

I didn't even know "Pass it on" was a religious song until I heard it at my church here in France (pour allumer un feu...). It is one of my favorite sorority songs though.

How do the words go for the church version? I can't think of a way to make it work...

Smile ahh past it on...a great song!

I am looking into Alum Initation so i am not in a sorority right now but i have got to say i have been in Job's Daughters for 20 years and we even sing that song in there and have change words around to fit our organization. I love that song every time i hear it and when i am sitting in church and hear it ,it brings a huge smile to my face.

Sincerely,
Laura Thompson

It goes like this...

"...and soon all those around will warm up in its glowing.
That's how it is with God's love,
Once you've experienced it,
You spread His love to everyone,
You want to pass it on."

then there's the other part:

"I'll shout it from a mountain top (Praise God!),
I want the world to know..."

Also, we sing a DZ song called "I am a D" where you spell out Delta Zeta and I will love my sisters, we'll be together forever more. I learned that song as "I am a C" where you spell out I am a Christian. Then it goes "and I have C-H-R-I-S-T in my H-E-A-R-T and I will L-I-V-E E-T-E-R-N-A-L-L-Y". So there are several cross-over songs that sororities sing.

LOL I can't help but chuckle while reading this thread. My Pi Phi chapter is utterly obsessed with singing "Linger" and "I'm a P" (similiar to "I'm a D"). I guess it just shows you that we really all sing the same songs but with changes of course.

We would sing that song at Camp (which was run by the Baptist Church)...I loved that song, it would always bring tears to my eyes and make me homesick!
