Talking

I am an AXiD at EMU in Michigan and we refer to ourselves as "fuzzies" and we "throw what we know" (hand sign) haha

the reason we are called "fuzzies" is because of our name...think about it

alPHA XI...PHA XI...Fuzzie...get it! haha it has nothing to do with being weird or creepy, its just our name!

We don't do fuzzies, yes to xi love (hand sign/'rock with your left, cross with your right'), more yes to the complicated heart one:

Does it? I've never seen theirs.

I think the very simple xi hand sign is clear and easy to understand. I think adding stuff to it detracts from the beauty and fun of "throwing what you know."

To clarify, the heart one isn't something we do in pictures or even that often; we were sitting around waiting for a recruitment party to start, one of my sisters went "Hey, look at this!", and we all spent an embarrassingly long time trying to figure out how the heck she was doing it. It was a good time

I'm from the Zeta Theta Chapter in Ohio and we use both the hand signs and are called the fuzzies from time to time. Its not an insult or anything. It's also what we call our new members. Fuzzies, or fuzzballs because of the new hazing rules that have been posted by our school we can't call them new members or "babies" like we used too. I am proud to be a fuzzie.

Sorry, I just do not like to hear Fuzzies. It just has negative connotations, especially at places where the panhellenic love is a little lacking. Our chapter has never ever gone by that. We do use the traditional hand sign though.

I've actually seen one or two people (who are greek) go "Alpha Zi Delta", to me, that's so obnoxious. C'mon, you know the greek alphabet, at that point, you're trying to be ignorant.

Unfortunately, don't assume that they do. I've gotten "Alpha Epsilon Alpha" in an alum Panhel meeting when I wrote down a Greek Sigma instead of an English S.

Oh goodness. I suppose I think learning the greek alphabet should be part of all new member/pledge training for guys and girls alike. Not to be tested on it per say, but to know it.
