need some advice
Hi everybody,
I used the search bar and read a bunch of threads, but I didn't see anything exactly like my situation, so I'll try and explain.
I'm a sophomore and spring rush begins tomorrow at my school. I feel as if it is my last chance before my Greek life options begin to significantly narrow when I become a junior. However, the thing there is a possibility I am going to transfer either next fall or spring (if I stay at my current school I'm going on co-op in the fall and won't be taking classes). Would it be wrong to accept a bid knowing I may only be here for this semester and during the summer (due to co-op/the way are classes are scheduled there are a lot of students here year round)? Also, if I joined a fraternity and transferred, would a chapter at my new school be less likely to accept me knowing I was only in the fraternity for a semester? I know its different for every chapter, but would it affect your personal opinion. Or should I just wait to see where I'll be attending school and rush as a junior?
Also, a more general rush question. I want to rush two chapters here, but the way its set up, their events are basically at the same times. I rushed one last year and bonded with some of the members, but do to my work schedule I feel like I didn't go to enough events to meet all the brothers and get a bid. However, there's a chance I didn't get a bid for another reason. Should I bother going back, or should I try and focus on one organization? In your experiences, are rerushes generally successful or not?
Sorry for the long post guys, I'm just kind of freaking out haha. I know each situation will vary from chapter to chapter, but I'm looking for your opinions or any general advice you may have. Thanks
