Chi Omega Christmas is Coming!!!

ETA: Note - this post was from a year ago...scroll down to my new post on 10/15/03 to see the dates for this year's Chi Omega Christmas!!!

OK-clearly, I am not a Chi O, but I just got my Texas Monthly, and was excited to see the notice of one of my very favorite Christmas traditions--and had to put a plug out here for Chi Omega Christmas!

If you live anywhere near the Dallas area, I highly recommend you head to the Dallas Convention Center around Nov. 14-16, and wear your shopping shoes. More than 150 merchants will be there, selling everything from crafts to antiques to clothes to holiday decorations. Oh, and my favorite part, food. All the cool Texas food companies will be there-like New Canaan Farms (jalapeno or amaretto-peach-pecan jelly), and Susie's South Forty Confectioners (Pecan Toffee that is TO DIE FOR). You can visit them all in one place for the low admission of from $10-15.

I believe this is the Dallas Chi Omega Alum chapter's big philanthropy project (someone fill in those blanks, wouldja?) & worth every cent-that is if you like shopping. You can avoid the drive to Canton (Texans will know what I'm talking about) and get your fix here. I'm just sad that I'm 5 hours away and there's no way I can make it.

If anyone on here goes--be sure and tell us about it (especially the pecan toffee!).

Wow, looks like fun! It'd be nice to head out that way, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to. Perhaps I can make it out next year. Way to go Chi-O!

It was a wonderful event-- a great place to get all those Secret Santa gifts!! Speaking panhellenically here, I was happy to be able to support all of the charities (but especially the scholarships for SMU Chi-Os... I'm non-discriminatory here)

I congratulate all the Dallas area Chi O's on their spectacular Christmas market. An undertaking this large had to take the efforts of numerous committed members-- I just want to say GOOD JOB!

I've been in Dallas for 3 years but had never been to the convention center... getting there and figuring out where to park was an adventure but once there, I had soooooooo much fun shopping, sampling treats from all the vendors. I will definitely be there next year.

Thanks, Karen -- I hope to make it there myself one day. I know it's a brig production & it take lots of wonderful volunteers to make it all come together. Have you ever been to Chi Omega Carousel in Ft. Worth?
