Billy J is the man. If I can learn to play just a few of his songs, I'll call that a win.
Keep plugging away at it, and you'll get it.

WIFLSRN: Yesterday, after I left work, I decided to go to Starbucks. While I was there, I saw this guy wearing a "Beats by Dre" set of headsets. I've always wanted to see what all the hype was about with those things. @ $200.00 - $300.00 a pair, they have to sound really nice. So as we were standing in line, I told him that I always wanted to hear what they sounded like. He let me hear his. Omg! They sound SO awesome! I had to have a set, so I got out of line, went to the mall to the Apple Store, and I bought a set. However, what I found out while I was there had me almost in tears. The sales guy at the Apple Store told me that Apple discontinued the 160GB iPod Classic. Noooooooooooooooooooo!

Now you can only get the 16GB iPod Touch. That's not enough memory for the amount of songs I have. He said I could use Apple's Cloud, but I don't like the Cloud. That's too much work. Then he told me that my battery life is only going to last for so long on my Classic, then it's gone. I was SO disappointed. I love my Classic SO much.

But my new "Beats By Dre" sounds freaking awesome! As soon as I got home from the mall yesterday, since I had the whole house to myself for the next few hours, I danced in the mirror SO hard.

I feel ya. My Ipod (I have no idea which one it is but it's about 1" X 3" and has a picture screen) got dropped in the water, and while it still works it doesn't do everything - can't adjust the volume as a for instance - and it presumably will die young. And it also is not replaceable. My phone, a Windows phone has all those capabilities but it blasts the battery life when I use the accessories much.

Lol @ CG's $200 spur-of-the-moment shopping spree for a pair of headsets. Must be nice. I can't talk, I just bought a set of $89 headsets for my XBox.

And my suspicions tell me you really dance like that in real life Lol. Why do you need the whole house to watch yourself dance in the mirror?

Heading to Atlanta to see my step grandfather who just went on a ventilator with pneumonia. I'm really worried about my grandmother-- my mom (her only child) died this summer from lung issues caused by rheumatoid arthritis. This doesn't seem real. Pete is also my dad's uncle. They met at my wedding.

I'm like that. If I see something I like, I buy it. Especially when it comes to my music.

Your "suspicions" are... well... accurate? I don't know how to dance very well, the very reason why I like to be alone at home when I'm dancing.

However, while I watch myself dancing in the mirror, I like to imagine that I'm freaking awesome at it.

Glee has gotten terrible

I feel compelled to let the producers of Glee know that it's a good thing they are bringing the show to an end because this entire season has been the most painful thing I have ever had to endure. They took a great show and made it die a slow and painful death.

The plots are stupid. The show is stale. It's no longer funny. They bring on any famous person they can to keep it relevant. I also have a hard time believing that so many of the Glee alumni don't have real world jobs and that they can always come back and freely walk around the high school like no big deal. It's just dumb!

I hate how transient DC is...my best female friend has been jobless since her senator lost re-election and so she's moving back home in 2 weeks. My best platonic male friend is going to Duke for his MBA this summer. It just seems like all I have left are my boyfriend, a couple of platonic male friends from school, and some betches I don't really feel all that close to.

I looked into the Junior League but it's way too expensive. 2 casual friends are an adult sorority-esque group but they seem primarily focused on finding rich and powerful husbands (shocking). My sorority alumni group hasn't been bad, but they only host 2 events a month.

Starbucks is packed tonight. I'm glad I found a seat. Looking at other people looking around for a seat, lol. Sorry guys, I'm going to be here awhile.

I feel like saying a lot of stuff that I just deleted because I realized it would be way too identifying. So the only thing I'm going to say is that the 6-month marker of my mom's death is this week, and I hate it. I know that it's always going to suck, but it just feels like an emotional vacuum right now.

Sending you a big ole hug. I just passed the 8 month mark of my mom's death this weekend. I talked to my doctor and started an antidepressant, just to help me for a while. It's not for everyone but it is helping me have a lot less "zombie days."

I'm laughing at Kevin's "for funsies" comment. Too bad it all got deleted - I saw just enough for my interest piqued... just to see it all go away.

Having been there...it doesn't get easier, but you become more at peace with it. My mom passed away when I was 17, in 2006. Years 1-5 were by far the hardest, and at 9 years, I'm much more at peace. Can I still remember every moment of that day. Yup. Am I still rather quiet? Sure. But I'm no longer a mess and can, for the most part, have normal human interactions.

If you haven't read it, I'd recommend reading Motherless Daughters. It will help explain a lot of things you're feeling and will feel--and may help explain some emotional reactions in the future.
