Interesting. I don't think I've ever heard Omicron pronounced with a long O sound at the beginning. I've always heard the initial O pronounced like the o it h ot.
Trivia for the day:
Omicron and Omega literally mean "little ( micro) O" and "big ( mega) O."

Haha yep, that's me! I'm such a nerd. I made that after I came home from the formal pledging ceremony for new members. I put the words over my face so it's not quite as awkward.
