Well, I know as myself goes, I interact with GSS here all the time, but it's a rift between some of the members of Gamma Sig and past APO members.

Welcome!
One of the brothers in my pledge class ended up coming to a rush event because he liked the movie we were playing there.

Name: Charles
Chapter/School: Alpha Epsilon, LSU
Pledged: Spring 2007 (Shout out to MK 23)
Offices Held: Sgt at Arms (Fall 07) and Service Vice-President (SPR 08)
Why I joined: A friend of mine who was a member knew of my passion for service invited me to an informational where I gained a genuine interest in APO. A interest that consisted of service and brotherhood!!!
Anything else: I was feeling this quote I took from someone's facebook that I thought I would share with you, "Others on campus will judge you based on your actions and inactions. Brothers IN action are the best representation of Alpha Phi Omega".

Welcome Andrew!
Welcome Andrew!
Did the chapter know you were a legacy? I've heard of both situations. My undergraduate chapter had one sibling pledge 3 years after the other so we all knew. OTOH, I also heard of one chapter where chapter didn't know until the legacy's father showed up for initiation.

Yes the whole chapter knew
It's not something I hid from the chapter as I was pledging, my uncle pledged the same chapter as I did It and many of the alumni that pledged when he did all those years ago are still quite active and close to the chapter

No they couldn't make it sadly
My grandfather hasn't associated himself with Alpha Phi Omega for a long time, he pledged over 50 years ago
But we made my uncle our chapter advisor

Thank you for the info. I know that Alpha Phi Omega, unlike some other groups, doesn't have any official meaning in the recruitment process, but it is still interesting to me to hear about those for whom it is true.

Name: Onnolee
Chapter/School: Alpha Gamma Mu - William Paterson University of New Jersey
Pledged: Spring 2006 - Alpha Zeta Class
Offices Held: Recording Secretery, Rush Chair, Service Vice President, Assistant Pledgemaster.
Why I joined: It's a bit of a long story. Two years before I actually pledged, a pledge from that semester's pledge class approached me and asked me to fill out a survey about what type of service the campus needs most. From them on, I was interested in APO, but I never pledged or did anything about it. Fast forward 2 years later, and I'm in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) preparing to be baptised. There was a weekly bible study and I had been unable to go all semester until this one particular day. I rushed down to the chapel, and no one is there, because it was Club Fair day. So my priest put me in his car and we went over there. Down from the Chapel table was the APO table and I saw a brother that I knew. The rest is history. I feel like, in a corny way, that it was fate for me to become a brother though.
Anything else: I think I said enough up there, haha. ^_^
