Smile opinions?

I'm rushing at a large SEC school starting well, next week. I realize pref night is supposed to be cocktail dresses, however I'm not a fan of black usually would these dresses be appropriate? And if so, what kind of accessories would go well with it. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

icewater? with strappy flats and pearls?

Maybe it's just the long-legged models but those skirts look awfully short - like verging on inappropriate short. You might be better off to go and actually try stuff on rather than ordering and hoping for the best.

I like the gray dress better than the teal one - ruching is often not the most flattering thing unless you are literally the size of a toothpick.

Hi there-

I just took a look at your pictures. I like what you have for day 1. I'm not thrilled with the bubble dress for skit day. I think it might look, for a better lack of a word here, "cheap". I think either of the pref dresses are ok, but I'm not crazy about either of them. Have you looked at some of the recruitment threads on here about what girls are wearing.

Could you wear something like this for second round with a cardigan if showing to much skin is a no no http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx...Id=71275|71302 or this http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx...Id=71275|71302

There are some great prices on that site.

Try Macy's sale

I just saw this thread...Macy's clearance sale with 99-cent shipping on certain items is ending today. If you check this thread today, I found some very cute items for great prices with the 99-cent shipping:

Match these with some cute jewelry and shoes and check bra straps and hemlines, and I think you'd really stand out. Just check the measurements carefully against your own, since you'd be ordering online. Good luck!

Thanks - you can tell I'm reliving my rush days vicariously through the current PNMs! I wish I had this excuse to go shopping for cute sundresses. Also wish I were young enough to pull off those dresses.

I love these suggestions!! Especially the last one including the shoes. I think I am still young enough to pull it off, but unfortunately, I'm no longer thin enough

This dress above, and others like it, I'd be careful with. That dress is by no means the lowest-cut at the neck as many that have been seen during recruitment, but I think it's borderline, depending on how it'd sit on you. Just my opinion.

The only one that I personally think would likely be appropriate is the first. As 33girl mentioned these all look suspiciously short, and it would be better to try them on in-store.

These are all good choices! (Though with the greenish one I'd be careful...not everyone can pull off that color.)

Love these so much.

Some places to get ideas are threads here, sorority websites (see if the chapters on your future campus have updated websites, then see what the actives are wearing to different events...maybe a semi formal to get an idea for pref), other PNM's you know that are going through at your school, your Recruitment Counselors, and the school's website (sometimes). A lot of department stores are clearing out their summer lines so hit all the ones you have time to stop at and you'll end up finding some great stuff for happy prices.
