I try to be more entertained than informative.

Hello all...I browsed the site and found it both entertaining and informative. I decided to join in hopes that I could have some stimulating and fun conversations with other college educated as well as like minded individuals.

Hello all! I've been a lurker for a ridiculous amount of time, but since I actually posted something today, I figured that I may as well introduce myself. Hope you're all having a great start to the New Year!

If I may..i'd like to add that in addition to reading In Search of Sisterhood, I've also read the following books about these prominent Deltas:

Open Wide The Freedom Gates-Dorothy Height

A Colored Woman in A White World-Mary Church Terrell

Ida:A Sword Among Lions-Paula Giddings

Mary Mcleod Bethune & Black Women's Political Activism-Joyce Ann Hanson

I truly admire these incredible women for what they have done for Black women and what they have taught us. They have taught to never hold your head down,to fight for your rights, and to be proud.

That's wonderful, Dreadloc'd.

Not to Dreadloc'd:

Also, remember that there are influential women all around who don't have the namesake (and the age). People often confuse paying homage with being stuck in our history.

Also2, remember what to do when you get from behind those books and step out to interact with Deltas (face-to-face interaction and not Internet). I meet so many women who pride themselves in reading all of these things, but don't know what to do when they can no longer "hide" behind a book.

Hi. I have browsed the site for a little while and decided to join. Good to have this site available to learn more about the various organizations from real life people. While there is so much information on the internet now-of-a-days, some things are best left to asking people who actually can give you real-life answers and feedback. (And yes I know there are areas that are not to be questioned on here LOL.)
