Founders Day 2013

January 27, 1870 will mark 143 years for Kappa Alpha Theta.

Blondie93 and I will be attending Founders Day celebrations today in our respective cities today. Who else has plans?

*Waving at M!! And yes, I did sport my Dyer*

I am home from our luncheon. We had 19 different chapters of initiation represented and every decade from the 1930s to the 2000s. Good times.

It seemed to really hit everyone today that our 150th is only 7 years away now. Crazy. Speaking of, our 1937 initiate has been cleaning out her closets and she brought me the centennial issue of our Theta magazine. I can't wait to look through it. This is the same member who gifted me the copy of 50 Years in Kappa Alpha Theta that she was given upon her initiation. The chapter wrote her a beautiful, personal message on the inside cover. What a treasure. I told her ANYTIME she wants to clean out closets that I am more than happy to come over and help.

I attended Founders Day brunch with my local alumnae club and collegiate chapter at University of Texas at Dallas today. What wonderful, poised and gracious young ladies! I had such a great time hearing ritual again and singing the songs that I loved as an active. We celebrated 3 50 year Thetas and several 25 year sisters. I really appreciated being reminded of a few pieces of ritual that I had forgotten, too

Working with Theta friends today, and I'm taking celebratory snacks so it will be a little festive.

Happy Founder's Day, sisters. I'm going to church wearing my badge.

I am attending Founders Day with Gamma Iota/Kentucky (Paige Ellerman is coming to speak!) and the Louisville Alumnae Chapter next month (two in one weekend). Then I will celebrate a 3rd time in March with Delta Upsilon/Eastern Kentucky & Richmond, KY Alumnae Chapter.

Forget March! I am celebrating with my chapter Saturday! March did not work out due to initiation, spring break, Greek Weekend, and Easter.
